Submitted dash cam footage to my insurance co. Last year. No questions whatsoever about installation method.

 

Not all insurances companies ask for them or expect them, however there are more and more starting to give discounts if you do have one.

 

If you have a look around youtube at the videos you see on there, you can understand why they are a good investment.

Not just for self protection but for evidence of other people’s misfortune too.
