Is the 190 TDI in the Passat the same as the one offered in Superb's / Octavia's? I test drove a 190 Octavia VRS and was extremely disappointed in the turn of speed or lack of. For me engine choice comes first and then gadgets. I enjoy driving our 220 every time I get in it, cracking engine. I see from your other thread that you're testing the Superb on Saturday. Be sure to stick it in sport and put your foot down and then come back here and tell me if you're still on the fence.

Yes same engine. The 220 is also available in the Passat.

Is the 7 speed or the 6 speed dsg Big difference? Seems the diesel come with 7 and Petrol with 6

I had this (or whatever the equivalent was called back in the day) on my 2013 SII Greenline. Looked great.

My first Mk 1 VRS was Brilliant Silver. Nice colour but there were just too many silver cars on the road . All the taxis around where I live are white and a lot of them are Skodas so could never have a white car otherwise I would be constantly trying to be flagged over!!!!

Great picture CB.  Where was it taken?  The superb is looking very smart, silver is a colour that suits the estate very well.

Our 2nd Octavia (mk2) hatch was brilliant silver.  I miss the days of less frequent car cleaning

Great pics!  Skoda have their 2019 calender sorted, from this thread alone.

Just noticed the OP also asked about 18" v 19" alloys. As you can see from my photos I've got 18" Pegasus on mine. But I was moving from a SII Superb on 17" and was really worried about ride quality so 19s were a bridge too far. But I have to say the DCC chassis control means my car rides better on 18s than the previous ones on 17s. And there are a couple of senior members here who are on 19s and are really happy with them. I think the short answer is to test drive them back-to-back and see which you prefer. That's what I will be doing next time around as I love the look of the 19s in the wheel arch.

Thanks! I can't claim credit I'm afraid - my Mum took it when I recklessly lent the car to her and my Dad to take on holiday...

It was taken in the Lake District - somewhere near Borrowdale I think.

Silver definitely hides a lot of muck, but the Fusso coat needs reapplying at the moment so it's struggling with the still-muddy lanes around here.

I'm on my mobile at present so can't post pictures but the petrol blue metallic is amazing for of the colours available for non Sportline Superb, for Sportline Superb, the Dragon Green Metallic is amazing.

Agreed Svend. And to me it's also very product-specific. Can't wait to see Penguin's meteor grey Sportline - it seems to be a brilliant colour for that model from the few photos I have seen - but I couldn't imagine it on an L&K. Similarly I wouldn't spec a Sportline in quartz grey. IMHO Petrol blue is the only one I could see working as well on both models. Love Dragon green but I'm not brave enough to live with it.

All colours look great when the car is clean and polished within an inch of it's life. :giggle:

Meanwhile back in the real world

Yep - if the photos I posted earlier represent Sunday lunchtime, yours represent Monday afternoon :D

Skoda Paint Box - over 50 different colors available - anybody seen the chart?

Business Grey for me ... my second Mk3 Combi in this colour .   Think it suits the Sportline Trim even better than my previous SE-L .

@penguin17

I'm guessing not many miles on those P7's  ;)

Congrats!

How much less kit do you get in the sport line vs the L&K trim? is the difference big?I love the SL look but if the configurator is correct a lot of stuff needs to be added to bring it up to L&K trim making it more expensive.

Also, compared to the Octavia , is the Superb a LOT bigger/better etc? Tanks!

That’s the current Sportline. :biggrin:That pic was taken last May.

My 280 should be in the UK next week

Oops! Forgot. You're getting the Meteor Grey one this time. I've always been a bit premature. Just ask – oh, never mind...

Depends what you are looking for. The boot in the Superb is really no bigger than the Octavia but the rear leg room is massive in the Superb compared to the Octavia. My Superb is a much quieter and smoother ride compared to my Mk 2 VRS I had before but I have moved for diesel to petrol which will have some impact on that. The fuel tank is about 10-15 litres bigger than the Octavia I think.

On the kit front, it all depends on what you 'need'/want. For example the L&K had stuff included I did not want or need so it was cheaper for me to buy the SEL and then add the bits that I wanted that were not included. For me the premium of the Sportline over the SEL did not seem worth it as it was missing some of the spec I wanted that was on the SEL and also I did not like the one piece seats (head rest too low for me) and I also did not like the Alcantara either (had it on a VRS and it did not wear well).
