Anything better value? A bit less grip for lot less £££?

Vredestein Ultrac Vorti.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric get good reviews and seem good VFM.

I think you are going to get a lot of suggestions & opinions though TBH!

The slightly older Michelin PS3 are still an excellent tyre, and should be a bit cheaper than PS4 or PS4S's? I've run them for several years but switched to Pilot Super Sports in 235 35 19 last year - they are just awesome :)

Not cheap though, and too early to say re longevity, as I'm on Vredestein Wintrac Extremes at the moment.

The OEM Pirellis are rubbish, although they lasted 20k but then most of my mileage is M4 and M5. I've tried Vredestein a few times, with so so results, no better than Kumho. Wrong time of the year for my other favourites Uniroyal Rainsports, in the summer they disappear quickly. Never tried the Eagle F1s....

What is difference between the PS4S and the super sports?

Nokian Hakka Z? I had them and they were quite fine overall and good value.

Nokian zline, vredestein ultrac vorti, or uniroyal rain sports.

used all and are quiet and grippy enough

Blackcircles.com have £40 off when you buy 4 PS4S's at the moment, they're £173 each before discount...

Interestingly 235 width are £1 less than 225's!

PS3's are about £10 cheaper but don't have any offers, so not much cheaper.

Goodyear's are about £144.

Can't comment re differences between PS4's/PS4S's and Super Sports as I haven't tried PS4's. Looks like PS4's are maybe more fuel efficient?

got my GoodYear Eagle F1s from blackcircles for £120 which included a hefty discount. I've noticed a big difference in noise and increased grip.

if money was not an issue pilot sports would be first choice even though they are slightly noisier. My last set of Michelins lasted 10 years!

I'm leaning towards the Goodyear. £60 is a lot extra to pay for a few roundabouts and a couple of cross Wales dashes a month.

+1 for the Goodyears F1 Asy 3.

Made a huge difference to my vRS petrol getting off the line and reduced noise compared to the OEM Pirelli.

Previously I'd have said Goodyear F1 AS3 however they have increased in price recently while the Michelin PS4 has dropped. Michelin PS4 seems to be the best option now all round and what I'll be fitting to mine soon. As a high mileage user you should get more miles out of the Michelins than other stuff too.

I had the F1 AS3's on my Passat and they suffered badly from sawtoothing even though the alignment was spot on.

Anyone had this with on the Octavia?

I've ordered the Goodyears £290 for the pair includes vat and fitting. I wanted the Vredesteins but couldn't find anyone local to fit them before Wednesday, as off to France early Thursday morning and they need changing. I guess a 900 mile trip over the weekend with 4 people with luggage and 4 bikes on the roof should be enough to bed them in and figure out if they're OK!

Great tyre, love mine. They also have some rim protection, more than many others, which will help with light brushes with kerbs.
