1.4 pd Throttle valve

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 2008 1.4 pd Fabia which I bought on a whim as I fancied a project. It's been neglected and needs all sorts doing and most of the jobs I'm fine with but I'm struggling somewhat with the throttle valve.

We checked the codes and it was putting out a P3103, so I checked the valve and it was caked up, as expected. Having taken it off and cleaned it up and freed off the flap, I wanted to check whether any teeth had broken off on the plastic gears inside the motor and this is where my problem lies. I have removed the 4 screws holding the cover on and the cover has come loose but will not lift off. I cant for the life of me see what could be holding it on and I dont want to force it. Does anyone have any experience of removing this part?

Any advice would most definitely be appreciated.

Thanks
