Hi

I have Skoda Superb DSG 2016 and I am having serious vibration problems at speeds of 65 miles per hour and above. The tyres have been checked and rebalanced. The vibration seems to be the whole cabin but noticeable through the steering wheel. Garage doesn’t seem to have an idea what the issue is they just keep rebalancing the wheels. Any help or advice would be great. Should I be worried? Is this a known issue?

Thanks in advance

I had buckled wheels on the back of a fiesta years ago. No amount of rebalancing fixed it. They had to be replaced. Cured the vibration. Could you have the same issue???

Wheel alignment? Leaking damper? The shop would have noticed a damaged wheel when they were doing the balancing. Criss-cross the wheels and see if the problems moves with the wheels?

Is it a FWD or AWD model.

If the garage is a Skoda Main Dealership deaiing with your car with a Manufacturers Warranty they are going to have to use more than clues unless Derren Brown works there.

They as a basic check might have to take 4 wheels / tyres off a Sales car and try on yours.

More likely they will need the car inspected more closely, drive shafts etc.

Hi guys, thanks for this. The car is FWD. it’s been in the Skoda garage for 9 weeks. Picked it up on Thursday and still have the same issues. They have said the wheels have been checked and balanced but still the issue persists.

Should I be worried to take it on the motorway given the vibration?

Sounds like possible CV joint failure, or wheel bearings. Get them to check these items.

Ryan, what has supposedly been getting done in the 9 weeks?

?

How long have you had the car, how many miles had it done and how many have you done.

?

What is the history of the car, servicing etc, and has it had other Warranty work carried out, or any history of accident damage?

?

What tyres are on the car?

Wheels / Tyres all balanced takes under an hour and that can be done at a Tyre & Exhaust centre.

Even Kwik Fit can manage that normally while you wait.

Get your Warranty Provider onto the case, get a Handler that can arrange a competent technician to have your car fit for purpose.
