    FINALLY.

  • You’re mostly correct, I just spoke with Skoda and it isn’t yet in the UK.   They did say that it’s not approved yet, but they have started shipping anyway in anticipation of approval.

  • I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.   Your first sentence reads to me that once the engine is WLTP approved, then that's the end of the process, it's ready for certification.

They told me it must be a backlog of cars coming to the Tyne port....

It’s still in Emden now - think there have been 4 boats come here since it arrived there. They say it ‘may well’ been on the next boat early next week.

Not great timing with the drive shaft having given out on my Focus today!

That makes sense.

I picked my Kodiaq VRS up yesterday and the salesman said he didn't think they were that busy at the Czech plant because they're getting orders processed within 6-8 weeks instead of 14 weeks +.

So if Skoda are flooding the port with vehicles, they'll inevitably get backed up seeing as there's only limited sailings between Emden and here.

Where is the thread @SkodaVRS1963?

Confession time 😀

Once I got out of the dealership, I put false plates on it.  Don't panic, the thing was taxed and insured so no issues if I'd run someone over.

The Highways Agency here have an £848m project affecting 32 miles of motorway between junctions 3-12 of the M4 motorway.

All monitored by 64 (count them) SPECS cameras (average speed cameras).  So you *cannot* go any faster than 50mph even though the cameras are in place to protect the (non-existent on a Saturday) workforce.

We didn't fight two world wars to be subject to such tolitarian crap.

So I booted it back from Norwich immune from the authorities; as soon as I've put the proper plates back on I'll put the pics up.  It's securely locked away in a garage right now 😀

STILL sitting in Emden - nearly 3 weeks now. Keep getting told it 'may' get shipped soon, or it 'could' be this week and to check back. Getting pretty ****ed off to be honest!

Turns out it is on a ship and due into Tyne in the next hour or so - whoop whoop!

Excellent mate, well pleased for you 😀

Just waiting for it to get the Dealers now, which is all of about 15 miles away from the port - so near and yet so far!

Don't make the mistake I made of sitting on your laurels.

Once Skoda UK live chat has told you the dealer has it, annoy the hell out of them (the dealer) so that they prioritise your PDI and handover.

My dealership had a "major" promotional event on second hand cars at the time they took delivery of mine and so all the new car orders took a back step in the pecking order.

Given that I got a massive discount off of list price, I'm not surprised as I guess they were going to make much better margins on used cars on finance with a limited warranty (for example, I sold my Focus ST3 for £15,500 and it's now on sale for £17,950 @ 3.9% APR, £500 deposit only and a twelve month warranty).

Still frustrating though.

Ha, don’t worry was pestering them straight away while it still was at the dock.

It arrived with them today and I’m picking up on Saturday morning.

So by now it should be safely parked on your driveway and, given the "heatwave" we have here in the UK, I guess you've had ample opportunity to test the aircon 😀

Absolutely! Picked it up at 8am this morning, well worth the early start.

Air con is so effective my 6 year old was complaining of being too cold at one point!

Have done 60-odd miles and very smooth, no kangarooing to report so far.

Very nice, enjoy!

congrats, happy motoring. They are a great car.

@Hendohimself do you have the heated screen?

Looks like the same yellow effect on the glass as ours that I notice in certain conditions. I was wondering if it was the heated screen that did it.

I hadn’t noticed that - and yes I do have the heated screen.

It must be the light/angle or reflection from the bushes maybe?

If I recall, the heated screen option also gets you a heat reflective coating to help keep the car cooler in the summer. That colour tint would be consistent with how coatings can look from some angles.

It must be then, on our Kodiaq the yellow / green colour is very pronounced in certain light conditions.

The heated screen works through a conductive film impregnated into the glass, but I do remember the feature also boasted heat reflection benefits too.

My Kodiak 2.0 TDI SE 4x4 5dr DSG [7 Seat] was ordered 7 weeks ago by through my works salary sacrifice lease scheme, I assume via volkswagen group leasing as that's who my current car is through. Had absolutely zero feedback in terms of provisional build week, when I asked the lease scheme provider I was told that they didn't know either 😫

Ask your "lease scheme provider" for the order number and use the Live Chat on Skoda UK's website to ask them for an update...

I've ordered through nhs fleet solutions so I don't have direct contact with the lease provider and I've asked nhs fleet solutions and they're not very forthcoming, they've just said they will give me an eta when it's built. 😫

  • 3 weeks later...

I just got an order update telling me an earliest delivery date of mid Sept. Given it was ordered mid May its a little longer than the best estimate skoda UK we're able to give me based on the spec without an order number.

At least I have some sort of date now though.

4 months / 16 weeks?
