I was hoping they’d already be on a boat!

    FINALLY.

  • You’re mostly correct, I just spoke with Skoda and it isn’t yet in the UK.   They did say that it’s not approved yet, but they have started shipping anyway in anticipation of approval.

  • I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.   Your first sentence reads to me that once the engine is WLTP approved, then that's the end of the process, it's ready for certification.

If only! My car insurance on my old car runs out on the 17th June. I had hoped  that I wouldnt have to renew  as the Kodiaq  would have arrived by then. However its looking  like it will arrive after that date!

Mine has been sitting at Emden waiting for a boat since last week.

Does anyone know how often the boat actually  leaves Emden?

I know of two places that it docks in the UK, Port of Tyne and Sheerness. We will all be watching the departure  list from Emden eagerly!!

Think someone mentioned they go to Aberdeen too. There’s a thread somewhere about ships - City of..... seem to be some of them.

The three ports are Sheerness, Immingham and Port of Tyne.  Look out for ships with names like City of .... and .... Highway.  Also, Viking Odessa seems to just shuttle between Emden and Sheerness.  This site helps to see what is going on https://www.myshiptracking.com/ports/port-of-emden-in-de-germany-id-156

As for timings, my car was built w/c 15th April, and is only getting to my dealer tomorrow!  Picking it up Monday afternoon.

@macbun @Liggy just checked via live chat and mine (and presumably yours) are still in transit to the port.

Cheers for the update. I'm trying to resist checking too often... I've kept it to once a month so far!

Just had an update from my dealership. She says that my car is now on a ship ( she didnt say which ship or if the ship has left Germany.)

I have asked for the name of the ship (if she knows it). If i get it I will post here, hopefully some other peoples cars might be on it as well!

Wowzers! Which port will yours be going to/where about in the country are you?

Typo

My dealership  is in Dartford, close(ish) to London. No idea where mine will go to, but i think Sheerness  is the closest,  so maybe there?

Probably not the same ship then as I’m in Northumberland!

I hope mines on the same one, its going to Skoda Slough.

Ours may well be together then, picking ours up from Aylesbury

Hello All. Skoda online confirmed  my Kodiaq  is on the Viking  Odessa bound for Sheerness. ( i think it departed Germany  yesterday)

Hopefully  that will be good news for a few others on the site waiting for their car!!

Good news for you guys. Mine is still waiting to be assigned a ship - the live chat person suggested I wait ‘a couple of weeks’ before asking for another update. Ha!

I am hoping  that that is a very conservative estimate from the Skoda live chat person!!

They do seem to be very conservative in that they quite the absolute maximum time scales - like the build can take 2 weeks etc. Suppose it makes sense to under promise and then over deliver!

Oops, double post.

Same here!

It's nearly in Sheerness

the closer it gets, the longer the wait would appear. Sadily i think about another 10 working days or more before we get anywhere  near the cars!

I was pleasantly surprised with my Octavia, it took about 6-7 days from arriving at the port to the dealers. Hopefully this will be the same.

now that would be very good. Fingers crossed

Collection day 😁 ... only problem one problem I'm nearly 7000 miles away 😭

@macbun @JasperVelders the Viking Odessa has moored at Sheerness now, I think I've tracked this ship more times in 3 days than I've spoken to Skoda since placing our order! Its so easy to 😁
