New member driving a Fabia

Featured Replies

I allready drive a Fabia since end 2010. During the years I made a lot of changes to the car, so it's very easy to recognize even without a license plate. This is a metallic green Fabia combi that's produced in 2003 and the 75 hp 1.4 16V engine. The most visible changes: chrome grill, Audi A3 alloy wheels (1996) including the spare wheel. Front seats and back seat replaced bij seats from a Seat Ibiza FR (3-door car). Also interior light units changed and added, and a whole list of minor modifications. I also like to detail my car, so although it is now over 15 years old, it is still very shiny.

This week I hope to exchange this car to a quartz grey Fabia that's only 17 months old (still waiting at the trailer hook, which is in backorder). I have made a list of modifications I like to make, but that's for later. My name is Gert, and at other forums I use the nickname "Cordoba".

Last Thursday I changed my modified Fabia I for a very standard Fabia III. I will make changes to my new ride, but first I have to study all the electronic systems to fully understand the systems of the car.

Last pics of the F1 en my first pics of the F3:

Thanks for warm welcome boys.

A warm welcome Gert!  Fond memories of The Netherlands in Venlo and Roermond in particular.  My wife loves the bulb fields at Keukenhof.

I live only 20 miles away from Keukenhof, but have never been there: too crowded in the season and there are many bulb fields in that region (and also in some other regions in the Netherlands).

Today another surprise during cleaning the wheels:

The tire pressure control system doesn't complain, so maybe I'm lucky and no leak. Tomorrow I go to the tire shop to check it, for now this wheel is in the boot of the car.

Let's hope the tyre could be repaired?

No problem to repair the tyre. On my way to get new detailing stuff (the spray wax for my wheels was empty, so I needed a new one) and an extra light bulb for the luggage compartment, I stopped at my usual tyre shop. The problem was solved in about 20 minutes, and the manager of the reception desk noticed the change of ride. Which surprised me, because at a shop where I've been about 4-5 times in 8 years, and about 300 customers a week, I don't expect to be recognized.

Glad it all worked out OK and that you have good customer service.
