Skoda Fabia 1.2 TSI Black Edition

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a 2014(64) Skoda Fabia 1.2 TSI Black Edition (which I think is Monte Carlo).

Just been looking around at some reviews and specs etc.. and have been impressed. I currently have an Alfa Mito Sportiva which is 105bhp and twin turbo (so it is a relatively similar, but bigger car) and it is just falling to pieces (typical of Italian cars I know) but wanted to get some recent and first person reviews.

Anything which I should be wary of?

I would like to know a few things like, phone capabilities? (I've seen some with Android auto), fuel economy, any weird noises?, does it have the turbo "punch" when you out your foot down?  And of course, is it reliable and dependable?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Ta.

Welcome.

Hopefully someone can help on the Black Edition.

Best get out and drive one.

Re your Alfa Romeo Mito Sportiva,  it is not a Twin Turbo unless modified, it is a TwinAir 875cc turbo 2 cylinder engine.

The Black Editions included a few options.

The following was taken from an Autoexprees article (http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/87916/skoda-launches-limited-run-black-edition-range) about the Black Edition:-

Despite the name, the Fabia  Black Edition (from £15,490) can be finished in Candy White, and both the hatchback and estate get the 104bhp 1.2-litre TSI engine, plus heated front seats, Bluetooth, sat nav and DAB digital radio.

From memory I think the Black Editions were only available from stock and could not be configured from the factory with additional equipment such as Climate Control.

Looking at the archived Skoda website from August 2014 they only references the Fabia as "Black Edition" even though when searching for "Fabia Black Edition" images shows all of them with a "Monte Carlo" badge.

Looking at the price list from August 2014, the Monte Carlo trim level was only available to order from stock as well so production was winding down by then.

Thanks for all you're help.

I've decided to go for a seat Ibiza. Got a deal which was far too good to turn down.

I really appreciate your comments.

Thanks
