Carpet Under Glove Box

Featured Replies

I picked up my Kodiaq last week and on driving back from the dealership my wife noticed some of the carpet under the glove box did not seem to be fitted properly, see attached Photo.  I have contacted the dealership and they are asking me to take the vehicle back, but can someone please post a photo of what it should look like underneath there glove box so I can compare.

Is the dealer blind, How can they possibly send a car out like that.

Some must practice for years before they achieve these levels of customer service.

My car... (floor carpet looks slightly different because it has textile mats, jut arrived yesterday from SuperSkoda!)

It's not carpet, just some foam 'thingy' ...

I have the same problem with mine ... keep falling off if the passenger kicks it.

I put it back in place every there and then.

It is designed to be removable as that is how you access the pollen filter.

However, on both the Octavia and Superb it is fastened in place with two plastic grub screws...

In your image there doesn't look to be any holes in the foam panel where the screws would pass through?

Maybe they changed the design? I cant see those holes on my one...

That's my point, the holes and screws used to secure the foam are on other Skoda models (Octavia & Superb).

Either Skoda have relocated the pollen filter on the Kodiaq, hence the foam has no reason to be routinely removed, or they felt the two screws were overkill and no longer necessary to hold the foam in place.

If the foam panel is falling down then it seems as though Skoda made a mistake removing the two screws, unless it's a production line issue and they weren't fitted correctly on the line. Hopefully its an isolated incident.

Sorry! Misread your earlier post.

That panel solution is somewhat tatty by design. Whilst the foam panel is secured at the front by a couple of push studs it is held in place at the back by the foam wedge that is secured to the back of the footwell. It should be just a case of pushing the back part of the panel over this wedge lip and it sits in place. Unless there is something inconsistent with your panel like misplacement or something above it pushing it down. I suspect as yours is hanging down maybe there is something that is preventing that being held in place at the back.

  • 1 month later...

Found the pollen filter today, it's behind the glovebox next to the fuse panel.

It's behind the honeycomb panel...
