As much as I love my Yeti...........

Featured Replies

it is a source of some regret, that of the 2 white cars, mine is the one on the right:angry:

The exhaust note of the Jag sounded immense, even at idle - stunning car and definitely on the shortlist, should my numbers come up tonight:thumbup:

Is that an "F"?

Brother in law has one and it sounds glorious, nearly as good as my Harley   B)

Must be a second car to something more practical, like a Yeti.

An old boss of mine had an R8 convertible and a Yeti. He used the Yeti for more practical tips. Like going to the tip.

Oooh yes !  Not on my own shortlist, though - I might manage to get into it, but wouldn't manage to get out ! :giggle:

Had the privilege of driving F type on a track day. What a pleasure and what a noise. Loved it. If only I had the money.TRC_4552-926.thumb.jpg.5d08523f1f2641c5fd075b2d6c03308e.jpg

Yes, my neighbour has one and an Evoque for the practical car.

I am really enjoying the clear rear windscreen in foul weather of my wife's new Fabia.

And I am also REALLY enjoying it's DSG box (not so fond of the slight lag from stationary until drive engages). (I know the Yeti has that as an option - just not on mine).

When in his twenties, my son enthused about the sports exhaust on his mate's Golf Vr6. I told him I could drill a hole in his exhaust for nothing. A year, or so, later son had a 100 mile trip in said Vr6 and told me how they had to raise their voices to talk - 'nuff said!

Amazing ideas in your youth.

First provisional and car.

This was the 60s renewed provisional every six months plenty of pals and family with full licence.

Austin A30 padded rally seat cover Pico big bore silencer padded alloy steering wheel.

It did achieve 70mph the day the air cleaner fell off:biggrin:

I followed the recommedation in a tuning mag to cut one turn off each coil spring off on my polo and to lower the car and improve handling.

No noticeable difference to the handling but the ride was far too harsh afterwards.

Should have learnt my lesson with first car, a mini, replaced the shocks with Spax adjustables. Even on softest setting it was like driving a car with no suspension. Handling was fantastic though!

The 1275 engine I dropped in rather than reboring the original 1000cc one certainly made a huge difference, particularly as it already had a large SU carb and Cooper S exhaust by then ( I gave a scrap 1100 engine which I bought to take apart and for spares for £10 in part exchange for the gold seal 1275 engine - bargain at the time)

Exhaust tuning on a Mini - LCB (long centre branch)!  Ah, nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
