Karoq Edition - no Phone Box

Featured Replies

I should have updated on this issue. I kept on and on at customer service about the phone box as well as an issue I had with a Skoda dealer fitting a tow bar (it took them 2 weeks to work out how to fit it). Eventually they fitted a new phone box which works fine (charge and signal amplification). I also weedled 2 services and £450 refund on the tow bar fitting out of them. Good grief, it was a hell of a fight they made me put up with letters to the UK and Worldwide CEOs, another threatening letter from a friendly lawyer.... it really shouldn’t be that hard to get a company like Skoda to honour a contract.

It seems like you had a good result with your phone box issue. Can I ask, how can you tell you have the signal amplification? It's obvious to see if you have the phone charging system working again, but less obvious about the amplification (I think). As far as I know, the amp is a small rectangular devise located under the rear seats. I've asked on here many times for confirmation about this (pointless asking Skoda), but I've never had any response.

Personally, I think Skoda will sit on this amplifier work around 'til the next Sheffield flood, and everyone forgets about it.

I doubt they fitted the signal amplifier, Skoda still don't have approval to use it in the UK.

I'm assuming the car came without wireless charging, which has since been retrofitted?

Has anybody found & installed a wireless charger in what would have been the Phone Box?

Looks like this has just been provided again in the MY21 Karoqs - the spec list quotes wireless charging for phones but without a wireless connection to the car aerial (due no doubt to the OFCOM ban that had it disconnected before).
