[Octavia II 1.6TDi Greenline 2009]

 

Hi all! Sorry if this has been asked. I ran a quick search query and did not find a similar topic. if it's there, then I apologise.

 

Am I the only one who finds the driver seat to be impossible to sit in comfortably? The main problem that I have is lumbar support. There is always a gap at my lower back, and the headrest is angled in a way that, if I tilt the back to a degree where it's supported, I feel my head is pushed forward. Also, I should either lean way back and drop the seat, or my knees will hit the steering column every time I get out of the car. And I'm not tall at 168cm.

 

I come from a Citroen C3 2002 and the seats on that thing were better for my back problems. It's a more upright car over all. This was feels like it's supposed to be comfier, but I've been having back pains since the day I bought it.

 

Has anybody figured out the seats?

 

 

 

 

On a second note, I was planning to look for heated leather seats to swap. I was told the VRs seats will fit, but still haven't found any. What do you know about this? Can I fit leather heated seats in my Octy Greenline?

I find they push my shoulders forward making me hunch. And all the lumbar does is sit too low and try and push me off the seat
As for the steering wheel problem, have you adjusted the Rake/Reach? Must be uncomfy to drive in the position you use if your knees hit the steering column.

As for the seat swap, if you can get the electric L&K ones I found them MUCH better for comfort as they are much more adjustable.

Can you link me to one of those that I can look at and trigger a lot of searches? Google doesn't seem to know what I want from "electric L&K seats"

 

 

Of course I adjusted the rack. If I get it fully out of my knees way, the steering wheel ends up being too high for my taste. And I really like to see the speedometer while driving, I don't know about you.  lol

Just get some front seats from a golf mk5 or Audi A3 (3P) as they are far superior to Skoda ones as I found my L&K ones uncomfortable too.

The very reason I got rid of my blackline vrs over 4years,I can remember there was a few comments at the time about it

A reasonably simple solution to this is to turn the head restraints around 180°. Possibly swap sides too if necessary, ie driver into passenger and vice versa, but still turned around.

 

I have had to do this on a few cars now due to same issue.

 

I use a home made lumbar support pad too as the lumbar adjustment in these cars seem to be ineffective, although it does adjust, just it's no good.

 

Luckily I also have a DSG which allows me to have the seat further back (re- no clutch to reach), which allows me to stretch my legs a little which makes it more comfortable overall. And still a perfectly safe driving position.

 

Most comfortable car I've ever had was my Saab 9-3.

I did this and installed a complete set of seats from a Leon FR.  They are much better for my back, don't have the white/silver bits that look dirty and are far more supportive than the Skoda seats.

They look like the interior below but I managed to get a set without the FR logo and mine have red stitching.  They were unbelievably easy to fit and the airbag connector was a direct fit.

Re the L&K lumber support, you can actually move it up and down as well as in and out, it's the round switch that does this. i suffer back problems but found the seats perfectly comfortable, and i have short legs with a long torso, so not very easy to find the right, comfortable position.
