CRUISE CONTROL ISSUES PLS HELP

Featured Replies

Hello guys. I got a prob with the cruise control on my skoda superb 2009. I got cruise control retrofited and it worked all good for 2 months. Suddenly, in the middle of using it on highway, cruise control turned off itself. From then on, i cant turn it on again. I took it to the guys in shop where they retrofited but they cannot found where the error is. :( All the buttons work in VCDS i am getting "implausible data received from steering column" error. Pics below. Any ideas would be great, iam despite. Cheers lads. Regards from Croatia.

Screen shots of the fault mean little. Post a full autoscan so that all relevant data can be seen.

Have your steering wheel radio/phone controls failed too? Could be clock spring gone down, but yes, will need all other info. They may have chaffed the loom if the other switches work.

Silly question, but the switch is selected on? The switch on top of the stork has an off position too.

hi. i got no steering control (no mf wheel ) indicator works normal. Guys i took the car to told me they tried with another wire and it was all the same :( i dissembled cruise control today as seen on rosstech forum but with no luck.

If car is manual, check the clutch switch is working correctly in measured values.

It is also worth checking  the brake switch, you need to see both contacts move, I’ve seen them crack on the spring contact and only one contact works.

If one of these switches fails, the CCS could be knocked out.

when driving, if you hit the clutch or the brake pedals, the CCS disengages. Could that be the source of your problem?

my car is dsg, both pedals seems like normal. strangest thing is cruise control stopped in the middle of driving on high way on speed of 130 kph. all the sudden like the wire was cutted with blade. :/

If it's not that long since been retro fitted - I'd check connectors, if fitted unter tension in any way it may have disconnected in some way. Especially with the error "cruise control switch - implausible signal". Concentrate on what has been installed or disturbed during installation.

tnx for helping me, guys which retrofitted it tried another new wire with connectors, and the error was still there. I ve tried to open Cruise control itself to clean the connectors (off-cancel-on ) but it didnt help :(   ....

Was it a brand new genuine kit? The wires he replaced was it the complete loom it comes with? Those pins are tiny and easy to damage if cack handed.

Can you see each switch position change?? in the measured value blocks or is it totally inop as I would think it would be with an implausible signal.

Are the fitting shop experienced in fitting these kits?

hi sir. not sure abut the if they checked the complete loom or just the wire :( but what they did checked is brand new cruise control unit and the wire (or loom ) but the result was the same with my and new CS unit..in vcds it gives signal on every position like it should. These guys are good at it, he retroffited more than 200 cars, and the guy he worked on it works for Audi Service ( hes a not an asshole, lets skip that part, offered money back, said, i am the first one with this type of error, he tried to get some help from VW service in Crioatia but with no luck ) what would be your guesses for the situation ? thank you for your time and knowledge !
