My Karoq arrived!

Nice, and about as easy a car to keep looking good on bad roads or weather as is currently available IMO.

Only cleaned the wife's Karoq's roof twice in five months. Somehow local pidgeons have been aiming at other cars. They must like Skodas.

If i have different cars parked i find the red ones are the ones they get their aim best on.

Love the quality inside. Just one thing I noticed straight away - the door handle inside (the plastic cover) is quite creaky when I grab it to open/close the door. That's on both sides - driver and passenger. Anyone else noticed that?

Picked mine up today it's also a 1.0L manual so thought I'd post here.

Drives lovely really happy with it but obviously very early days. Only slight gripe with the manual is the fairly notchy gearstick but it's not unbearable.

Not noticed creaky door handles but check the glove compartment, mine sticks sometimes when opening so I've got to go back to fix as the technician isn't there on weekends (bit annoying!)

Also they wouldn't have offered the 5 day complimentary insurance had I not asked for it.

Checked the glove compartment - no problems. Yeah, strange about the door handles, I was thinking, maybe because the car was left in the sun for a few days... don't know, just a guess. Anyway, what's your impression of the engine? Do you feel it lacks power in some situations? Is there good gear dynamics? Do you feel you have to change gears too often? :)

Hopefully over time the creaks will wear off, would've thought it's because of the newness.

I'm perfectly happy with the engine, in fact said to my girlfriend on the drive home am glad I didn't end up paying extra for the 1.5 when I don't really need it. Remains to be seen what it's like at higher speeds.

Thanks to the turbo boost it has enough punch from stationary if needed. 2nd gear does struggle a little at very low speeds, but I've been used to using 1st at these speeds in old my old car anyway. I don't feel as though there are too many gear changes but again it depends what engine you're coming from before.

Just settled up my finance with a whopping £5.62 of interest :D

That's an option - sports steering wheel (or something). Fancied the look and not too expensive addon. Around 80 £ if I remember correctly.

Oh and I didn't buy the car in the UK. So not sure about the specs you have. What I did notice with the specs offered in the UK compared to where I got it, you do get a lot of equipment as standard whereas I had to choose a lot of your standard equipment as addons. Also, because of that, the starting price in the UK is much higher that here.

Just discovered another little fault  the driver's seat will not adjust up or down. I know I should've checked this earlier but it was already in a position I like so left it, and you'd think these basic things would work anyway. Already have the appointment for glove compartment so will get it looked at then.

Will post a few pics, very happy with the colour but it definitely likes the dust!

Nice colour but my dog would destroy it in about 12 seconds.

Haha I have a dog! But she's older so her destroying days are over :D she'll be going in the boot with a liner over things so hopefully won't be too bad.

Funny enough I asked about the free insurance and they said no it’s not offered so have to sort your own out.

Was as link I swear you get 5 days free :wondering:

I was offered the 5 days but had already sorted it with my current insurer. Must differ from dealer to dealer.

Leicester Skoda dealer always offers free 5 day SKODA insurance, saves alot of hassle upon collection.

I wasn't brave really, had originally wanted black but as they'd stopped taking orders for the 1.0L engines the only option left was to go for a pre built one. This was the colour and trim I wanted (as well as being 1.0 and manual) so decided to accept the beige. Do love it, really brightens up the inside but obviously time will tell how it fairs.

The the colour/interior colour, but in my line of work black interior is the only way to go, even with a seat cover on my seat in my Octy i have to clean it every couple of months.

It seems to be a Skoda trait. The front passenger door handle has creaked since day one. Still makes the same noise and feels just as flimsy 8 years later. The drivers handle doesn't squeak, but is a different design and feels more substantial.

At the time I bought my car (2010) Skoda offered 7 days complimentary insurance. Didn't ask for it, was told the dealer had done it automatically as it helped them either to tax or register the vehicle.

The only downside to that having to remember my insurance renewal is a week after VED and MoT.

That's not good! Have you ever complained about the creaky handle? Any solution to the problem?

It's only really obvious if someone REALLY grips it. If they just tuck their hand in behind the handle and close it gently it is fine.

To be honest with the amount of vehicle and component defects, poor customer service from both the dealerships and SUK I've endured over my 8 years of ownership, the creaking door handle is the least of my worries.

Hence , first and last VAG vehicle for me.
