Skoda Fabia 1.6 TDI Decelerates For No Reason

Featured Replies

Hello guys!

I have extremely strange problem with my Fabia 1.6 TDI, year 2011. While driving on motorway 80-100 mph car starts to decelerate on its own to about 60-65 mph. Sometimes it happens after 5 minutes, and other times after an hour of driving. When it decides to decelerate, you cannot do anything about it. Gas pedal all the way down, nothing. Like it is dead. Extremely frustrating. I went to official Skoda partner to check. Nothing. Then I went to see two private garages. Nothing. EGR, DPF, MAF, turbo, fuel injectors, you name it, everything fine. Visually all good. Computer showed no errors. Changed all filters too since someone told me it could be due to bad air filter. Did not help. Any tip or advice is highly appreciated. Do not know where to look anymore.

Greetings from sunny Croatia!

Sounds like ' limp mode ' - lots of threads on here about it.

With mine ( now P/Xed ) switching the engine off &  restarting gave a few more normal miles, but not always easy or safe to do.

Hey punyXpress and thank you for your answer. Limp mode? But no warning lights on dashboard? I will take a look. Anything that can be done about it except restarting? Some proper permanent fix?
