I've been running a Viofo A119S off the centre cig lighter socket for the last two or three weeks, to find the best (for me) settings and to confirm that it is behaving properly.  The hardwiring kit is on order to convert it to run off the fusebox - yes, Fuse 6, rear wiper, ignition live. 

 

Technical question from Electonics Idiot:  If the canbus system is so darned sensitive, why should it ignore the extra miniscule drain of the dashcam ?  Answers in single syllables greatly appreciated, thank you  . 

Because not everything on the fuse board runs off CanBus, (I think).

 

That’s why I chose fuse 6.

 

But I could be wrong (and frequently am, that’s how I do most of my learning these days)
