Sat nav glitch

Featured Replies

VRS245.

Now and again I get this mark across the top of the display.

Only seem to notice it on motorways.

Anyone know any more?

It's the sky.

If you want to remove that 'mark' you could switch to 2D mode

I get that too, not all the time. Also, the Sat Nav 'loses' the speed limits. Is it a glitch in communicating with the satellites?

Sorry, it's a 67 plate (Sept 2017) done 13,000 miles.

Are we talking about the horizon here or am I missing something ?

Talking about the wide beige smudge covering the top couple of centimetres of the display from time to time, particularly when I'm driving on a motorway.

So the horizon.

Zoom in, it will disappear as if by magic :)

If you drive to the coast it will be the Sea or Sea mist, Take your pick

So this is intentional?

I don't get why it comes and goes when I'm on the motorway

It appears when you're zoomed out past a certain level of magnification (like you would be on a motorway). If you zoom in a bit it'll disappear.

I don't know the answer. But it does not look beige to me and does look like a typical stylised graduated blue sky on the horizon.
