Induction kit ordered.

Rather than spending a fortune a lot of forum users recommend a 70mm 90 bend pipe and a ramair filter and call it a "fatty" ind kit.

Total £40, beats £100+ for a named Brand which is basically the same thing.

Once the batteries moved and ive got more space I'll look into building something a bit beafier but for now I'll see how this works :)

Liking this thread mate. Probably one of the best cars to use as a track toy as well. They're a really good all rounder aren't they.

I looked at a few different things tbh, st150, ep3 type r and every forum or thread you read it just came back to the 172/182 as being the best budget track car.

I looked at a few 182's but they have a few more creature comforts and weigh a bit more so opted for this and so far I've not been disappointed.

Yep its got the french plasticy interior but that didn't stop in for long lol, it has a few niggles :D

Immo keeps stopping on every so often meaning i can't start it and the thermostat has just started acting up but there both easy fixes so nothing to worry about........hopefully :D

ST150's are prone for using excessive oil. Well my mates was anyway think he went through 3 engines.

Least the 172 has a few less bits to remove then :D there is always going to be little niggles like that with a Baguette mobile. Look forward to seeing more updates

Good job its a track car qnd not my pride and joy :D

Seen a few with vented bonnets to feed air to the filter, similar to the circles in the bumper, built myself up to it marked it all out started the first one and the bloody teeth rounded off and the drill packed up :(

Was a horrible state, starting to get late after running round trying to source another hole saw and getting dark.  so in a mood i took the grinder to it :D

It wants some tidying up, i through some silver mesh on to make it look a bit better. I've ordered some rubber edging so theres no sharp edges and black mesh but it doesnt look to bad now I've looked at it a few times :D

Budget vents ftw ;)

Quick pikey aircon removal, pumps still in place while i decide whether to go cup setup if i can find one cheap enough or go with the pure Motorsport delete kit.

Started to tidy the wheels up now I've decided to stick with 16's. no good doing a budget track day car and forking out hundreds for new wheels, defeats the object a bit.

They were rough :D and i had some white painting knocking about so why not. Also getting ready for tyres so im using from 195/45's to 205/45 ns2r's.

Dogbone vibrations seem to have settled a bit, still noticeable but i can live with it.

Went to see my mate jim at alloy racing fabrications yesterday regarding a few bits and roped him in :)

Alloy header and power steering tanks to incorporate the ecu cover and move it out the way to the bulkhead as they come standard slapped next to the battery and look unsightly.

New 3" rollend tailpipe to get rid of the not so stealth version that's on there, looks a bit odd now the bumpers chopped.

Battery box for when i move the battery to the boot.

Flat floor panel to get rid of the wheel well.

Few more bits ripped out, more wiring stripped back or removed at the weekend so thought I'd weigh it at work this morning.

1140kg with my fat 115kg frame in it so minus that it weighed in at 1025kg with just under half a tank of fuel.

Over standard its lost 85kg which works out about 13st and it still has the standard front seats, front carpet, door cards and roof lining so i reckon i can get it down to under 1000kg which I'll be happy with :)
