parked on the Birmingham Ring Road

Featured Replies

So, here I sit in the pouring rain a bus layby in a red zone on the Birmingham Ring road waiting for the nice AA recovery man who says he'll be here in an hour to start my revovery trip back home to Preston.

The AA roadside rescue man Dave went above and beyond in first diagnosing the problem (blown clutch master cylinder) and then running me around the local area trying to find a parts shop who could sell me a replacement clutch master cylinder that he offered to fit.

Alas with it being late Saturday afternoon there was no-one open who could help, but thanks and kudos to Dave for trying.

So, anyone near Lawley Middleway in Brum have a spare clutch master cylinder for a mk1 Octavia 1.9tdi (or Golf mk4)? Says he, hopefully ...

Ever notice... its always a lad called Dave tries to help??

Safe home thanks to Alin and Dave (another one) the AA's recovery drivers who double-teamed me back safely to Preston.

Good Ole Dave:D
