I bought some Philips whitevision h7 for the front lights.

Me too, and they didn't impress me at all.
Anyway, when you install them, mind that you must engage the bulb holder guides when still far out from the final bulb position. I struggled with that.

Thanks I will keep that in mind.

I checked some review and it's one of the best one apparently. I do not want to go for led or hid.

Do you also have w5w bulbs?

No, the Philips H7 is the only upgrade I made. Having checked just now, I see that mine are the X-tremeVision type, so my experience may not be relevant.

Thanks I'm coming from an Octavia 2016 with xenon and AFS so I'm a bit concerned but I will see.

Having been impressed with the quality of the LED headlights, sidelights, indicators and mirror repeaters, day running lights, interior LED lighting including mood lighting in my "Scout" I have only just noticed the crummy rear  indicator and reversing light "tungsten filament bulbs" they have fitted, they were the only available bulbs for 40 years in cars until LEDs.

Not fitting LEDs all round on a £30k plus vehicle is just penny pinching at its best!

That's been the case for several years with "LED rear lights" - it makes absolutely no sense to me either, if they're advertised as "LED rear lights" then IMHO anything other than 100% LED "bulbs" is a misrepresentation.

Does high functionality not refer to the quicker reaction times (quicker to illuminate on and off) for LED over filament lamp?

No

It refers to the fact you have some more LED driven lights. High functionality means the inner bits on the boot lid now light up as well (with LED), the number plate lights are LED and possibly the front indicators use the drl led strips instead of an incandescent lamp and so on. Even with the high functionality option you may still have some old fashioned lamp bulbs e.g. rear indicator/stop/reverse (as in the case of my Superb high functionality)

Its a marketing/trim term.

I don`t know if its the case with a Karoq but you have to be careful when replacing tungsten filament bulbs with LED`s in this case replacing the rear indicator "bulbs" does not appear to register a Canbus fault but what happens with the indicator warning light the indicator relay usually hyperflashes if a "bulb" fails as a warning which shows on the warning light - does that still happen if you replace the "bulb" with a LED?

No

If the LED does not match the characteristic of the "bulb", i.e. draw the expected current, you will get a bulb out warning on the dash.

2 ways around this, either use a " Canbus friendly LED" which is a led with a parallel resistor (that probably gets effing hot) or code the car to accept led replacement using VCDS or other tool. Not sure, but the led may have to match the OEM led closely as its still monitored for failure.

Skoda Karoq Scout  has just moved into the 21st Century - the reversing light bulbs and rear indicators now LED`s and it looks so much sharper and better for it.

Well worth the change.

Bonne nouvelle

Merci pour le lien.

Does anyone know what a 21 MY Karoq SEL will have for rear reverse & turnsignal? Full LED or just the stop & tail?

The 2021 model stop/tail lamps look the same - little ole bulbs.

Where did you get that from? Any pics?

Are reversing and rear indicators arranged as individual LED bulbs, or are they diffused strips like front turning signals and daylights  (which look much much nicer) ?

Does this mean the bulbs will be available from a dealer?

No. They won’t be popping filament replacement LED bulbs at the factory. The new lights will come as a whole LED cluster.

LED bulbs are not type approved and so the MY21 Karoq will still use filament bulbs for the rear indicators and reversing light. For the amount of use they get, LED bulbs would not be cost-effective as they are much more expensive and the fuel savings through their reduced power consumption are negligible. (And of course the unofficial replacements use a power-hungry resistor to keep the CAN Bus happy, so they don't save any power at all.)

The facelift Karoq will probably be the MY22 car!

According to SSP116, in the picture below, the left-hand screw is for the low beam side adjustment, the centre screw is for the fog light height adjustment, and the right-hand one is for the low beam height adjustment. A previous thread in this forum linked to the SSP116 and SSP117 documents which are the Self-Study Programmes for the Karoq.
