You do realise that all these extra bits you've fitted will slow your car down.:D

  • 245 looks lovely and the stealthy black look is great but I won’t have people trash talk Citigo’s, ours is awesome     You should have at least 1 flip key with a Citigo above S s

  • Option 1 for me. Option 2 looks like you’ve badged it a vRS yourself.  Reminds me of the guy round my way who owns a Mercedes C180 AMG BRABUS SPORT TYPE R GTI.

  • Got the car detailed today and had some scratches removed. Received some parts from Superskoda so started to fit.   First full set of rubber mats for cab and boot. Then changed the foot rest

Bonnet lifters added today. See this thread if your considering it https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/311228-superskoda-hood-power-damper/

Also purchased faraday pouch for Kessy key. Keyless entry is backwards when it comes to security!

Kessy wasn't a must have for me but huge improvement for driving position as I no longer have a key sticking out of steering column into my accelerator leg. Just wish Skoda would move key barrel from steering column to centre console. Now I have to worry about theives scanning house for key signal instead. Well the pouch solves this.

While I gained in one area I lost in another as I have adaptive cruise control stalk sticking into my clutch leg instead! Damn it. Poor positioning of internal parts in my opinion.

See you've added more weight and finally covered up that battery. Going for heaviest, slowest 245 in the UK perhaps. Just added these DIY decals.:D

Nope battery still not fully covered. Any weight I've added is less than a small child so I think I'm gonna OK. :notme:

Remember them decals are gonna cause drag. Also what's with Audi wheel inserts?

Have you not been paying attention young Jimmy (said the teacher). Audi RS6 replica wheels would look odd with Skoda centre caps, plus not much standard left on my car anyway. My power to weight ratio is fixed now (for a 245) at an amusing to me anyway at 245BHP per tonne. Extra drag from the wider wheels/tyres absolutely.:D

Jimmy did you get a replacement windscreen under warranty?:worried:

Well......the saga of getting my car to stop being a rattle box continues.

Two days with Skoda at the end of last year for rattling and creaking roof console noises, buzzing and vibrating front passenger door and a daily stop/start error did not go well.

Skoda claimed no error codes for start/Stop system but noticed a voltage discrepancy between the system and the battery so made an adjustment to solve the issue. This in fact did not solve the issue. While my start/Stop now worked 2 out of 3 times it would still throw up an error.

The roof console noises could not be heard by the technician so nothing was done.

The passenger door buzzing was not investigated because, while they did hear the noise they noticed I had fitted car cameras so could not rule them and their wiring out as the cause of the noise.

The three circles that appear on my windscreen when fogged up are going to be a bigger issue. The technician agreed they have probably been caused from the suction cups from the fitting tool at factory but when they inspected another new car it also had these circle marks so is considered normal and not a defect! My mind is blown!

One I could care less if another car had these marks, I want them to deal with my car. But if other cars are being delivered with these marks then it clearly shows there is an issue at factory. I argued that if every car was delivered with a dent in the bonnet would that also not be a defect because they all had it?!

They made no effort to address the problem. Offered no solution, did not try and polish out etc. I was advised to take it up with Skoda customer service which I have and now a manager is looking into it with their senior technicians.

I was pretty p***ed because they had my car for two days and didn't actually fix anything.

The loan car was a Karoq which was pretty nice. If only the new VRS was petrol as this would be my next.

Another two days with Skoda this week.

I removed my two car cameras and wiring so they would actually investigate the passenger door buzzing this time. They believe the noise was coming from the B pillar so they removed and refitted so fingers crossed.

The roof console noise I have identified as the cover for the rear view mirror coming into contact with windscreen. I stuffed some thin foam between the plastic and the glass and this solved the problem. Skoda didn't agree, ignored my suggestion and decided it was the roof light cover not sitting flush which was causing the noise. Because I had fitted non standard leds this was not a manafactuer defect at that's the end of that! Thanks Skoda.

The start/Stop error again had no fault codes but they gave it a software update and think it's fixed. Again time will tell. I did mention the last time if the system might need an update but they said no?

The three circles on my windscreen where photographed and we are waiting for a response from senior Skoda technicians at customer service. The customer service manager who is dealing with this believes that there maybe a special compound that could fix the issue but needed photographic evidence from my local garage. We will see how this goes.....

They were generally unhappy on having to work on my car again as they get paid peanuts from Skoda for the work apparently. I did not know this. In fact they made out the only real billable work would be the software update. This makes my a little suspicious about the software update, did they only do it because that can charge skoda? Did they ignore my issue with the mirror surround because that work would not be chargeable?

So for the mirror surround I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and work out how to remove it without breaking anything (I should be so lucky) and potentially add a foam padding to stop the noise.

As for the roof light leds and cover I will admit it's not quite sitting flush anymore so maybe it's warped the plastic ever so slightly when I removed it to fit leds. It's not actually the source of the rattle but I want to fully rule it out. The leds are not over sized and are not stopping the cover from sitting flush. They are also tight fitting so not lose or rattling. Skoda quoted over £140 + VAT for a new light fitting as they don't sell the cover separately! :dull:On the hunt for a brand new cover somewhere......

Your treatment to date sucks and so grateful my car has been trouble free over 18 months and 20,000 miles.

Yes. I've updated my last two posts. Skoda customer service are dealing with it now so who knows the outcome. While I appreciate Skoda are "trying" to help to a point I'm still not impressed with my purchase. This maybe my last Skoda (I'm already window shopping). First world problems.

It looks like those decals are designed for the clear bit to peel off leaving only the red AMD lettering.

& all the letters including a g!

Yeah took me a couple of days to realise. By early April all the decals will be off the car. Novelty has worn off like the odd missing letter.:o

I've been chasing a buzz/rattle/vibration from the passenger-side front door on my car for nearly three months now.

I didn't hear a thing for the first few days of ownership, however after that I would hear a random noise - I just couldn't work out the exact combination of things to replicate it.

It sounds worse when there is loud music, so that was indicating a vibration through the door was the cause. But then I could be stationary and I wouldn't hear the noise.

Then I'd find that particularly rough roads, so cheap repair work would cause the noise, but not always - however rough road and music would almost certainly cause this.

Car went into Skoda 3 times, one specifically for this noise and twice over a glovebox light switch replacement, where I reported the noise at the same time.

Each time I collected it was "no noise heard" and even when I took the mechanic out I just couldn't find that combination to replicate.

I fixed this yesterday.

Removed the door card and added two quite large pieces of foam (away from cabling, or anywhere that might cause issue). Found two areas inside the door where there was nothing more than the plastics.

Touch wood I've had two days of near-silent motoring.

It isn't the right fix I know, but nobody can see it - the noise was driving me insane! I kid you not where it was getting to the point where I'd take the hit on cost and sideways trade it in!

Good luck with solving yours, I know how annoying they are.

The B pillar rattle is a common fault, which I thought might have been addressed on the FL using dealer feedback. Mine was given extra foam in the pillar.

It's really does ruin the experience! Glad you sorted yours but I'm really trying to avoid pulling my car apart and causing other issues.

I thought they'd fixed my buzzing in passenger door area but it's back today....:@:@...so I'm car shopping now *groan*.

Did they remove B pillar top cover and fill with more foam? Or wedge foam in gaps? Mine has a airbag so I'm very wary about fiddling.

The  dealer the pillar cover was removed. I don't think it's totally cured when on rough road surfaces.

Hi mate,

Can I ask where you got the bumper protector from? I have had a look on SS but cannot find anything for the VRS hatch, just std hatch or estate models. TIA!

Hi. Superskoda is your friend for all things Skoda. This does say "standard" hatch but fits perfectly.

Because it's glossy it's scratches really easily so soft cloth at all times!
