Thank you for your constructive help with this I am familiar with Linux and am computer literate and can in most cases quickly pick up what is going on.

Well that is really helpful KevC_Derby, if the instruction supplied were to bear any resemblance to what was sent, then things might have gone a lot smoother. As it is I am very grateful to langers2K for all his help.

Here is what i have taken screenshots of and a csv file as requested.

Thanks again.

Wow, I didn't expect all the screenshots. Still there is nothing that looks related so my money is on an adaption channels.

Your adpmap is empty for some reason, can you try again? You can try entering 20103 as the login code but I don't think it should need it.

Will do - dinner now then after..................

Alright Captain Linux - that obviously doesn’t mean a thing. Was a pretty straight question but take umbridge all you want.

Much better, there are certainly some channels in there that look like they need changing.

Open 5F in VCDS

Click Security Access

Hover over the security key box, a tooltip should show the correct key (at a guess, 20103)

Enter the security key and click "Do it!"

Click Adaptation

Use the search box to find:

IDE04300-ENG117496-Vehicle menu operation-menu_display_pdc

It should be "not activated", change to "activated"

IDE04307-ENG117710-Vehicle function list BAP-parking_assist_0x0A

It should be "not activated", change to "activated"

Come out of the controller then press and hold the power button on your headunit for 10-15 seconds until it reboots.

Test and see if that's changed the behaviour.

This is a very steep learning curve as I have never owned a vehicle with a canbus before. I will follow your instructions to the letter in the morning. Fingers crossed. Thank you.

HI

Attempted what you suggested, entered security code - that went OK but the adaption button is greyed out????  Took some screenshots again to show what happened when I selected 5F and also 10.

Regards

Turns out they had sent the wrong instructions with the incorrect wiring...

I believe it's all sorted now the wiring has been corrected :)

I’d be interested in hearing more about the install and what had to be changed as it’s a mod I’m considering.

All the problems stemmed from me being sent the wrong information regarding the canbus pins and me never having attempted any type of coding on a canbus system before. But if you do decide to go ahead then there are at least two of us with quite a lot of knowledge on the coding and wiring of this particular Parking sensor setup. It is worthwhile investing an hour (8 euro) on the Erwin site and downloading the manuals for your vehicle.

Hi all

Thanks for all your help, I have now sorted out the wiring for the parking sensors with help from yourselves and the Erwin circuit diagrams, thats after I worked out how to use them. Still got to code the unit so still more problems to come on that front I expect.

Thanks again.

Do you still have the circuit diagrams?
