VCDS/OBDEleven: Torque steer compensation

Featured Replies

When I first got my Superb MY18 220 Petrol, I was surprised by the amount of torque steer under hard acceleration.

Messing around in OBDeleven last week, I found an interesting setting that was deactivated by default, called "Pull Compensation". Possible options are "Not Activated", "Active, with learned value", "Active, without learned value".

After much searching, I found on some other VAG forums that this does indeed seem to be a setting to help combat torque steer.

I enabled it ("Active, with learned value"), and drove it hard, with the sort of acceleration that normally produces bad torque steer. While not gone completely, it does seem to have improved things. I have now driven around 500 miles with this setting on, and had no issues (and torque steer does feel better to me).

From the little I could find, it seems to use the steering assistance rather than the brakes, so shouldn't impact brake wear. See https://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36475

You can find it under:

Controller 44 (Steering Assistance)

Long Coding - Pull Compensation (maybe TSC if using VCDS)

Choose your desired setting. I'm making an assumption that "learned value" means it will adapt automatically, but maybe that's wishful thinking.

Well done on finding this, will try it and let you know.  I wonder why it was not enabled by default. !!
