Hi,

Just waiting on a build/delivery date for a MY19 206kw Sportline wagon.

Interesting to see how lucky we are in NZ as the Sportline here comes with pretty much every option as standard, and I've added the new digital dash, progressive steering, acoustic glass, etc.

Hopefully the wait isn't too long, looking forward to both it arriving and joining the forum.

Cheers,

Jim.

Hi Womble, what part of Godzone do you hail from?

What's the list price for the Sportline down there and are there discounts available from different dealers?

Hey,

I'm from Auckland - born and bred, but was conceived in Dorset (apparently I have Made in the UK stamped on my butt (pommie parents).

For a 206kw wagon list price is NZD$69,990 (GBP36,000) - but as usually happens for Euro cars in NZ, they only import high spec. cars as  standard as that's what's in demand.

With a bit of a push they've taken $9,000 off that and discounted the extended warranty too - so it ends up around mid $60k with the options added.

So that means as standard we get:

Sportline Alcantara Leather interior, Sports Seats with integrated headrests in black
Triple Zone Air Conditioning
Navigation ‘COLUMBUS’ Infotainment System w/ Smartlink+ incl. Android Auto and Apple Carplay, 8” Screen
Front & Rear heated seats
Virtual Pedal – automatic gesture opening of tailgate
‘CREW PROTECT ASSIST’ Proactive protection for driver & front passenger
Front & Rear Parking Sensors and Rear-View Camera
‘KESSY’ Keyless access with engine start/stop button
Electrically opening/closing tailgate
Virtual Pedal – automatic gesture opening of tailgate
Adaptive cruise control including Front Assistant emergency braking
‘LANE ASSIST’ & ’BLIND SPOT DETECT’ using multifunction camera
‘LIGHT ASSIST’(Coming/Leaving Home, Tunnel Light, Day Light)+ rain sensor
Rest Assistant (Drowsiness detection from driver steering input)
Dynamic Chassis Control with ‘Driving Mode Select‘
‘PARK ASSIST’ with parallel park button
Front Fog Lights with Corner Function
Bi-Xenon headlights, AFS, LED ‘DAY LIGHTS’, dynamic angle, telescopic headlight washers
“SUNSET” tint for side & rear windows from B pillar back
Electric side mirrors with memory, heated, folding, auto dimming functions
Sports flat bottom steering wheel with ‘Tiptronic’ DSG gear paddles
Electric seats for driver & passenger, lumbar support, driver memory function
LED Ambient Lights, reading lamps front/rear, illuminated interior door handle
Remote folding of rear backrest from luggage compartment
Colour ‘MAXI DOT’ - Multi-function colour dash display
Sound System CANTON – 10 speakers + Subwoofer & digital equaliser
19” ‘VEGA’ Anthracite Alloys
Towing preparation
3 year warranty

I'm adding:

Velvet Red $1500
Digital Instrument Panel $1,000
Progressive Steering $600
Acoustic Glass $900
5 years extended warranty
Nets, etc.

The only thing I'll miss switch over from my BMW E61 550i wagon really is the heads up (and the rumble of the V8) - but given a new one of those is twice the price in NZ it means I can spend the difference on my other toys.

Its definitely the most cost effective wagon I could find that will still do 0-100kph in under 6 seconds - a key requisite ;-)

Cheers,

Jim.

Hi Jim, thanks for the details and welcome to the forum. That sounds like a nice car. I'm an ex-pat from Taradale, on the point of returning home after 35 years away and  was asking so that I could compare between shipping a car home - or selling here and buying over there. From your info, can see no advantage in shipping. How long is the delivery time?

Hey,

Small world :-)

Wait for a factory order is about 4 months. I got offered some standard stock 206kw Sportline wagons for $57k in normal colours like White. Black, Silver. They are also bringing in 162kw Sportlines as a special edition for $49k. Everyone is buying Kodiaq's at the moment so there's good pricing on the Superb.

Cheers,

Jim.

Welcome to the club! Nice to see that the wait times are down, I waited 6mo for my Kodiaq.

@Warrior193 re: shipping, unless you're happy with paying NZ3k getting your car shipped here, and taking the hit in depreciation (as not NZ new) it's a better bet to sell and buy a car here. Looking at £26k for a 162kW Sportline and £31k for 206kW Sportline, but a dealer should give a discount and some free accessories. I don't think EuroCity (Hawkes Bay Skoda dealer) won't give quite as much discount as the central Nth Island places though.

  • 1 year later...

Hi,

Fieldays (June this year I think) - they always throw around good deals (although it looks like it may be cancelled this year due to Covid-19). There's normally good discounts and 5 years servicing, etc. thrown in. I actually used an archived copy of their website on Google to show what they had offered a few months before, and they honoured it.

Given the current financial climate I would expect to see some deep discounting coming in the next few months. Worst case go direct to Skoda NZ rather than a dealer and hit them up. They will discount to the dealer so it can be passed on.

Cheers,

Jim.
