Amundsen Clock & Time Zones

Featured Replies

New to Briskoda so any help welcome. Bought my new Octavia III Combi just under 2 years ago and am very happy with it. It has th Amundsen GPS infotainment system which, generally, works well apart from one very irritating issue - I visit England frequently and, although set to GPS, the clock never changes time when crossing the channel in either direction. Has anyone else had the same issue and found a solution. My very good dealer suggests a 'mise a jour' (firmware update) but this has already been done once and made no difference.

Any feedback much appreciated.

My MIB1 Amundsen updates automatically between UK & CET when I use EuroTunnel.

The setting for automatic time correction wasn't visible when I got the car so I enabled it using VCDS (enable an adaptation channel), maybe that isn't enabled on your Amundsen?

Thanks PetrolDave - both clock control by GPS and automatic DST are visible within settings and, unless there is something really counter-intuitive going on, appropriately selected. Have made many cross-channel return trips in the time I've had the car and have always needed to manually change the time; not difficult I know but should be unnecessary. All other elements of the amundsen working fine.

You're not alone Emil, my 2015 vRS only updates when it feels like it.  Noticeable when we do day trips to France.  I gave up on it and now do it manually - if I can be bothered.

Thanks Gary - really bizarre in this day and age, like you I manually update if I can be bothered. Will keep trying for a solution but won't hold my breath.

My clocks don't automatically change either when I cross the channel for shopping trips to Calais or the odd foray into Belgium. It only seemed to happen once I'd done a map update.

I won't be bothering with the next map update as I'll be changing the car before the next trip.

Thanks TheWanderer, Interesting about the map update - it doesn't seems to solve the problem when I have updated. Judging from these forums (or should I say 'fora') there seems to be rather a lot of clock related issues, largely around the automtic summer time change. You would think that Skoda (for whom I have a high regard) would have picked up on this and done something about it! Are there any Skoda people listening out there?
