Oh dear

Featured Replies

Well after a 5 day listing i'm still the owner of the pick up :( . Might end up selling the Primera on at this rate..lol.

I think im going to have to leave it for a while and try again during summer, but god knows how im going to pay the bank off fast to clear my overdraft (borrowed the money for the Primera as I thought the Fun was sold).

Oh well might be at the shows in it anyhow.

Sorry to hear that Ross.......can't understand why it didn't sell......if only I had the money

I thought someone here bought it?

Big A4 FOR SALE signs at the shows seem to be popular and work quite well. ;) Or park the truck at the Skoda garage in the same way. Can't blag it on to the forecourt can you? :)

Me too.

What happened to the sale? Person never had the money?

Bad luck mate.

bad news chap, hope something comes up soon :)

I'm sure I remember someone on here even had the pickup as his signature image shortly after the sale - did he not ?

He had an issue with some bailiffs and a debt at his address - Was all in the other thread I think. :)

I find small A4 just as effective as big A4. :P

Have you tried a second chance offer with the other bidders?

Beat me to it

I'm not sure who it would be most useful for? E.g. I think I'd be in trouble if I took the kids to school in it. Is it worth advertising it at the back of a weekly hobbyist or trade mag?

Good luck

Mo

Perhaps a trip to WSM this weekend with a few signs in the back might help. What about getting some for sale graphics made up to go on the sides or something.

Drastic times call for drastic measures!!!

Oh dear indeed.

Ah well, have to get it insured and park it in random locations with a big for sale sign in it...

It sucks that it hasn't sold though. :thumbdwn:

I'd love it, but

I'm not insured on it anymore so it isnt going anywhere.

Plus with the lack of funds I can barely afford petrol to get to and from work at the moment so I certianly aint going on any day trips.

Dave was also the only genuine bidder in the ebay auction other than one other who wouldnt go over £2k.

I thought I was all sorted - listed my Golf VR6 on eBay - quite a bit of interest, guy buys it using buy-it now -- pays via paypal -- including the ridiculous £85 fee.....

Today I get an email from Paypal -- they have frozen my account -- checking on the transaction as may have used a stolen card!!! brilliant £2,500 sat in a paypal account that I can't and may never be able to touch!!

If this proves to be the case I'm well and truly stuffed, the guys long gone with the car and I've no money - I have "A name & address" but I never asked for any id - you dont do you !! -- I sent him an email, as yet he has not responded....

I've had some hassles in the past - but nothing like this -- just drawing out the hassle, I thought I was sorted - transfer money to bank then a few days to get my hands on the money ARGH!

Bad luck mate. Hope it works out for you, and me.

Hence why I added in my advert car will be released when funds have cleared into my account if not paying with cash.

 Never never never have a paypal payment alone to cover the purchase of a car. :( :( :( Any contact details at all for the guy - I'd report it as stolen to the police right now. (what about the V5 details you send on to DVLA?)

I think that is the only thing I can do.. have put another thread up as I don't want to hi-jack Ross's

I sent the V5 off - but I dont know if the address used was genuine.

When I sold my old mondeo on ebay, I took a small payment only on paypal and the rest had to be cash. I did it to get around the paypal fees.

Hopefully it will get sorted for you in the end.

If I'd have known that Paypal could do this, I would have done the same - I thought it was safe as houses - how wrong can someone be!!

I'm hoping that it's just a **** up somewhere on Paypals side -- I've replied to there email in fairly strong language - hopefully they will respond quiickly.

Guys,

Sorry to hear about the unfortuante circumstances, hopefully it will all have a happy ending :)

Many other than trader, way to expensive and cant stand the weeks of phone calls from people asking if the car is sold, then waffling on that they have people in your area ready to buy your car.....
