Door cards

Featured Replies

Hi all, Just a quickie I'm looking to return my door cards today I took off all the usual hex bolt and main screws etc disconnected the door handle cable but once loose the door cards still did not lift out even though only held in behind window i was worried I would break the door card in the end is this right is something hidden holding them in or is it just age stuck in place lol ???

They sometimes can be quite stiff to pull from the door tops.

Here are all the screws in the front door cards...

I found a gentle tap with my hand from below helped release it, once I was sure I had pulled the door card away from ALL of the clips that hold it in place to the door carrier.

Just one last question on the lower side of the door carriers there are 3 black plastic lugs/inserts are these anything to do with the window as in my passenger door they are missing and the window rattles unless I open it a touch and I can see signs that this trim had been off before I suspect maybe the window had been smashed any thoughts as it's a really annoying rattle lol

You have an irritating problem, you keep saying "lol" when you clearly don't mean it, I hate to break it to you but this isn't text messaging, most people on here are crusty old farts who hate wasting time and money on cars.

I don't think the broken plastic lugs you describe would cause the window to rattle, it's more likely related to the clamps that actually hold the glass.

Firstly as always I appreciate all useful comments what I don't appreciate yet again is your need to talk to another adult in a derogatory fashion just because your are clearly an arsehole try speaking to some one with a bit dignity and respect for a  change rather than the ****ty comments you make towards everyone on here or do us a favour and either keep your comments yo yourself or better still delete your profile and save us all having to read your retarded bull**** have s lovely Xmas

You may have overreacted slightly.

Personally I don't mind you swearing and playing the man instead of the ball but you if you look at my history of providing free help over many years on here the context of your ludicrous statement would play better on Facebook or Twitter.

Feel free to ignore my suggestion.

I wasn't rude to you, I just find it irritating when adults behave like children. Please desist.

You could not wish for two better examples of A - posting with dignity and B - in a derogatory fashion.

As much as it pains me I am going to conclude with LOL!

You take a long hard look back at the various posts you have made to people asking questions and your replies if you still after reading them believe  that there is not an issue with how you talk to people then I strongly suggest you seek help !!!!

And if you believe someone using text talk is playing like a child then maybe you should get up with the times it's called progress which is why we are still not going about on horse and cart LOL

I agree with Sepulchrave that putting LOL which I understand means 'laugh out loud' is odd on a car message board. It often seems to be used as a sort of punctuation mark like a full stop rather than to actually mean laugh out loud.

Maybe its an age thing. I'm 70 and remember spoken/written english before it became polluted by text speak. I don't find texting in general to be a form of communication that conveys more than about 50% of any message sent and that includes the 25% of misinformation that the recipient reads into it.

Progress implies some sort of change for the better. Change for the worse is not progress.

However I normally just cringe inwardly when LOL comes up and keep silent. Does it matter that someone complains about it? Change if it helps. Disregard if it doesn't help. Get upset by it? Really? Then there may be some truth in it.

"Dignity and respect" - LOL

2nd time I have used the term, I had better stop before it becomes a habit.

Not sure if you're referring to front or rear, but if you mean front, do you mean the three plastic rivets? They are only needed when the car is being manufactured as they hold a plastic bracket that has the lock unit attached to it so they can assemble the carrier complete with lock unit attached. The plastic bracket is not needed for home repairs and is usually thrown away. Just put some tape over the rivet holes.

Not to be disrespectful but maybe you should also read some of his comments towards people I was not having a crack about the text speech more so his disrespectful attitude when replying to people, this is not the first time this discussion has been aired but I got one am not the sort of person to roll over and have my tummy tickled and if I'm being spoken to like a piece of trash then I will say something hope this helps clear things up.
