Can these changes be made with VCDS on MY19

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.  New here and first post.

I have just ordered a MY19 Superb SEL 1.5 DSG with some options.  Hoping to get the car in March.  There are a couple of things I will be looking to change when I get the car which I think will need VCDS however I wanted to check what is and isn't possible to change with regards to the following on a MY19:

Disable start stop permanently - The answer from searching seems to be yes by changing the minimum voltage that to cuts in at.  Am I correct here?

Allow the internal button (the one next to the gear leaver) to both open and close the boot - I saw one post about it but seemed to suggest needed VAG Can Pro rather than VCDS?

Disable the cornering fog lights - I can't find anything about this in relation to the Superb S3.  Does anyone know if this is possible or has done it?

Hi Bemak, I can only answer your first question - yes, that is correct. By setting the battery voltage limit to a point where the engine auto stop-start system thinks that the battery voltage is too low to allow it to operate.

You can do all three with VCDS.

I've not seen any info for that modification - especially on a MY19 and even more especially with VCDS!

Perhaps you'd like to add a link to where you've seen this please. :thumbup:

Partially true, this can only be done on the 2015 Superb:

"Allow the internal button (the one next to the gear leaver) to both open and close the boot - I saw one post about it but seemed to suggest needed VAG Can Pro rather than VCDS?"

This indeed does need VCP to upload a modified file to the controller and to my knowledge nobody has modified the file for any of the later controllers (used from 2016 onwards)

(On the MK3 Octavia VCDS can code the tailgate closing, there is no option in VCDS to do it on the MK3 Superb though)

Well excuse me lads and ladsines - once again I just saw the MkIII and thought it was the Octavia MkIII forum.

I will be reading more carefully in the future.

Again, my apologies.

Thanks for the replies.

Start stop seems easy enough. The boot closing with the button seems to be a no go at the moment.

with regards to the cornering fogs can anyone confirm they have disabled the cornering fog lights on a superb S3 and if so what the VCDS code was to do it? I see post about other Skoda/VW models but not the S3 superb. Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone has disabled the cornering fogs on a MY19 yet and could confirm it works/how to do it?

The cornering fogs should be the same on any MQB car with halogen or xenon headlights (the coding has moved to new controllers for LED headlight cars)

I'm also interested in this change but haven't found anything for the moment. How can it be done (S3 MY19)?

I bet its under adaptations in controller 09 - the same as the Octavia III.

I am also interested in deactivating the cornering lights but haven’t found anything so far.  If anyone can help??

Digging this one back up.  Not sure if I have missed it in the VCDS thread but has anyone established if turning the cornering fogs off is possible on a MY19 Superb.  I am keen to get rid of the feature totally both for cornering and also stop both coming on when reversing.  They look awful next to the xenons and are basically useless.

Hi,

I've found several informations to tune the corner lights parameters (Max speed switch off threshold / Min & max steering wheel angle threshold / Activation upon blinker switch on).

Bu nothing to deactivate the corner lights... 😶

as @Bap33, u can change the max and min for activating the cornering lights.

i changed mine to activate when max speeds goes below 30 km/h, instead of the factory 40km/h.  this way it doesn't turn on unless i'm turning much slower.

for u change it to something like minimum 200.

using VCDS, go Module 09-Central Electrics, go to Adaptations and search for "static_AFS".  change the following values:-

static AFS light-Lower speed threshold from 0 to 200

static AFS light-Upper speed threshold from 40 to 240

unfortunately i don't know how to influence them while reversing, or with blinker switched on while stationary ( @Bap33 - do u have info on this?  i'd like to deactivate this bit)

@JR RS No sorry, no information to deactivate corner lights upon reverse or blinker... 😶 As you, I assume, there might a bit to untick somewhere, but the question is ... Where ?... 🤔

i solved it this way on my MY19 superb:

09 -> Leuchte12NL LB45 -> Lichtfunktion B12 -> nicht aktiv
09 -> Leuchte13NL RB5 -> Lichtfunktion B13 -> nicht aktiv

thanks for this :)

so to confirm this turns off the "Cornering light" function?

currently on mine, its set to:-

- Leuchte12NL LB45 -> Lichtfunktion B12 -> Abbiegelicht links (Cornering light on the left)

- Leuchte13NL RB5 -> Lichtfunktion B13 -> Abbiegelicht rechts (Cornering light on the right

so by changing it to nicht aktiv (not active), i'm assuming this will disable the cornering light function.

with regards to cornering lights while reversing, i found this going through the 09 Admap for mine:-

- static AFS light-bei Rueckwaertsfahrt (when driving backwards) -> both sides

i haven't tried this myself, but i believe if one was to change this to "not active" as well, then it will disable the cornering lights while reversing too :)

exactly, mine was set the same way.

You have to change it to "nicht aktiv", this will turn off cornering light (both forward and reverse).

i did not change "static AFS light - bei rueckwaertsfahrt"

Isn't their something that just need to be untick on the Colombus (Vehicle > Settings > Lights or something like that) without using VCDS?

Just wandering... 🤔

not the cornering light function unfortunately... then it would have been too simple for us who have yellow fog lights and white xenon low beam! 🙄

I wish it was as easy as ticking a box in the vehicle menu.  Sadly Skoda/VAG do not want you turning them off for some reason.  Some good info here.  Looks like there is a way to get rid of the pesky cornering lights on newer Superb which is great.  I just need to find someone with a compatible VCDS cable near me (central Scotland) who would be willing to help.
