Fabia VRS tyre pressures?..whats everyone running?

Featured Replies

What's everyone running tyre pressure wise on Furbys?

I'm currently running them as per the sticker inside the fuel filler cap (2people+luggage pressures) but they always look a bit under inflated!? ...it's only me in the car 95% of the time and the other 5% is the other half @ weekends!

I run the 'normal' 32/30psi from the filler cap, too. Had some different tyres put on recently, and they look less flat to my untrained eye, but then again low-pro radials always look a bit soft anyway IMO...

34 on the front and 32 on the back

same here 34 on the front and 32 on the rear.

I reguarly commute with my Fiancée to work, but never really have any luggage in the car except at the weekend.

Took delivery of my car at the weekend. Put some miles on some A roads and then took it through the welsh lanes to test it's prowess and was very disappointed with the handling. Tyre pressures were 34 front and 32 rear on Bridgestone Turanza's.

I upped them to 36 and 34 respectively and there was an improvement, but still not enough. I will try 36/36 and see how I go from there.

Giving serious consideration to Eibach springs and an ARB;)

thankyou everyone for your replies, I will try 34/32

2.25bar i run at seems to work fine on my sport contact 2 tyres (dont know what that is in psi) i use one of those gages from halfords i also keep the same pressure in each tyre

34/32 front/back here too, Continental Sport Contact IIs. Below that the front seems a little too keen to slide around

snap

double snap;)

I have continental sport contact 2 at 33/32 and the fronts seem under inflated, but they also seem under inflated at higher pressures... Do you have the same problem?

I have used many tyres on mine, both Turanza's and continental Sport contact 2's.

I found 34psi in the front and 30 in the rear worked well for the turanza's, and 36 front 32 for the Continentals.

Both tyres are jacks of all trades, master of none.

Conti's are adequate in the dry, poor in the wet. Turanzas seem better suited to current road conditions. Cold and damp, but nothing to shout about in the dry.

An arb will go a long long way to heloing the handling.

Also, from my experiences, I have found cornering off throttle seems to work well for the Fabia. When I say off, rather balanced. Response from the front under power, is to understeer.

I pump mine to 34 all round, but then the front right decides to do:

Monday 34

Tuesday 32

Wednesday 30

Thursday 28 (pumped to 34)

Friday 32

 Got some issue with the beading not sealing on the rim. It very gently bubbles out (had the wheel underwater at mate's garage the other morning) Just going to have to live with it until the front tyres need changing. :thumbdwn:

Just get the tyre taken off mate, at a tyre place, it will just be some poo on the rim. Wire brush the rim, put back on, sorted.

34 / 32 seemed better than 32 / 30 on turanzas they do look a bit flat though on the front checked them on about 5 different gauges plus my own so assume they are reasonably accurate, had four in the car last week seemed ok ,bit noisy though on the motorway,

35 / 33

Mine are up at 36 front and 32 rear, in an attempt to stop the shoulders of my Proxeses wearing so quickly... :(

34 front

32 rear

Michelin Pilot Premacy tyres, 30,000 miles, still originals.

34 front. cant remeber if i put 30 or 32 in the back. think it was 30 last time but before that 32.

36 front and 33 rear on mine , seems to work better than the standard pressures on the Toyos i'm running , excellent turn in , but that could be the Cupra bushes and rear ARB
