It's standard for all products.

Well, if you are lucky you might notice oil being thrown out, that is just a guess, if you are worried, just remove one screw, I seem to remember, then tilt the cam belt cover over and out of the way, slightly tricky, when you have done that you get a good view of the top of the belt and that pulley - it is the inlet pulley so the one nearest the front of the car, any oil leaking out due to the screws slackening off should be obvious - I checked that on my wife's late July 2015 build Polo a year or so ago and intend to repeat that every year - really just to play safe, by the way, there was no evidence of oil escaping on that car.

Thanks, will check it out.

If you're happy, keep it. No need for warranty IMO not worth the money. If you have a Mk3 Fabia don't worry about the engine, the problems existed with the older 1.2TSI which is not in the MK3 Fabia.

In 50 years of motoring I have never had or needed an extended warranty and no major engine failure. List is Morris Minor; Vauxhall Viva HA; BL Mini 1000; Triumph Dolomite 1850HL; Nissan Micra Mk 2; Ford Orion, Fiat Multipla Petrol and finally Skoda Roomster. That is a fair cross-section of models and makes. Only the Skoda I have had dealer serviced because of creaking bones and no desire to lay on back and to be a contortionist to remove sump plugs and the like.

What, shame on you, I am still buying tools - I just hope that I manage to use them!

I have never bought extended warranties, or to put it another way, I've only had extended warranty on a VX Cav GSI 2000 16V 4X4 it came with the car at 6 months old, also my current car came with an extra year warranty tagged onto the new car warranty, and so far no engine failures.
