Can anyone give me advice on what the problem could be on my 2015 Octavia VRS petrol hatchback?

The car heats up inside, whilst it’s parked up, but as soon as it’s driven, the heat drops right off. Even when parked, the heat out of the blowers is only lukewarm on the highest setting. I’ve noticed the temp gauge never goes above the ‘a quarter to’ mark, and most of the time the temp gauge is nearly on zero, even after a good bit of driving. I’ve took it to my local garage who flushed out the coolant thinking there could be a blockage, but it’s still exactly the same. There are no error messages or warning lights on the dash. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’m freezing on my way to work!!! 

Thermostat or Temperature Control Unit would my initial thoughts.

 

Checking for any obvious error codes might give you some pointers.
