@Skoffski you seem to like the Tarraco :)

Very much so, i much prefer to a Kodiaq,

but i am waiting to get an EV that can have a tow bar on, and that i can afford.

Does anyone know what the differences are between the Kodiaq and the Tarracco?

I can check the specs, but are there any "subtle" differences that are worth consideration?

Yes I have one. What would you like to know? Best to try both and see for yourself.

1. Tarraco only comes with 7 seat confirguration in the UK at the moment

2. If you are financing on PCP , I would go for the KOdiaq now as the deals are better, I 'bought' on 0% PCP when they run the promotion in Q1.

3. There are used (1000-3000 miles) Tarraco's to be had now for under 25K

4. Technically and mechanically, they are very much the same car, as is the Tiguan AllSpace.

5. The Tarraco is assembled in the VW main plant in Wolfsburg, the Kodiaq is made ?

6. I prefer the slightly higher up screen in the Tarraco.

7. THe Tarraco come as standard with Full LED lights (every single bulb on the car is LED, inside and out) Digital Dash, Folding tables on the rear seat, keyless entry and virtual pedal, lane assist and front assist, dynamic indicators.

8. SEAT have no options apart from folding towbar and panoramic sunroof, You choose Trim, Colour, Engine. KOdaiq has many options.

9. It is virtually identical to the Tiguan AllSpace except front and rear bumper and light clusters.

Thanks for your response. I was wondering if there are any small differences, things "missing" in one or the other, that aren't mentioned in the specs?

I was looking to buy a Kodiaq, but getting one of a high spec "in stock" is very difficult, whereas the Tarracco seems to have a high spec option as a "standard" package. I wonder what I would be missing if I went for the Tarracco (ice scraper, torch, umbrella's I wouldn't miss)

1. WLAN, not an option in the Tarraco.

2. SD only Nav, no SSDs available of bigger screen.

3. NO Boot Net divider option, so if you need to load to the roof you will have install a dog guard or make do with strapping down stuff.

4. The centre armrest is deep so you need to buy a insert if you want to hold coins and smaller items without having to dig (th eone form the Tiguan fits, bought and         tested  https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07QKTW24J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

5. The boot cover stores under the boot floor

6. The third row SeatBelt clips are designed differently and keep falling out, Kodiaq's pulling to the roof, Tarraco is a full three point

7. Full leather seat only availble in the LUX spec, all others have manual seats and cloth or cloth/alcantara combo.

8. There is only one hook on the side of the boot

It comes also with three zone climate control and 12v charger in boot, levers to fold rear seats as standard,

I prefer the larger rear side window in the Kodiaq for the 3rd row and the flat boot floor. (Tarraco has a slight ramp like the VW). Also didn’t want the standard larger wheels on the Seat

Good point! I don't really notice it to be honest, it's 3/4 cms. The downside is the outer bootlip is higher on the Kodiaq as the boot floor height is the same as in the Tarraco, it is just the frame of the hatch is lower on the Tarraco if that makes sense.

I prefer the larger (small) side window for row three in the Kodiaq which makes it look a longer car but in fact it's 4 cms shorter but we don't use the third row regularly so it makes no difference to me. Estetically the Tarraco looks better with the sweet up rear window for me.

It seems there is no heated steering wheel in the Tarraco? Not a big issue, but I did expect it to have this.

Nope, good point, didn't pay attention as it is not a feature i am interested in

Does the Tarraco have the option of a heated windscreen? Would be a deal breaker for me.

Nope, not in the UK (stupid SEAT UK decision) - there is a winter pack in Europe you can order, containing either heated nozzle and windscreen or those and auxillery heater.

Not much use to us I know

EDIT: Actually having said that there is a button on the climatronic with a picture of a windscreen, I guess this is just blowing not heating? I am parked in a garage so never had to use it anyway

Any further updates @TonyTonic? Lack of leather below lux is a pain. Are the seats heated? Thanks - very useful thread!

Update on?

no heated seats on xcellence trim. They are heated from xcellence lux I think. Not sure.  Should be on the SEAT config.

Only xcellence lux has leather seats. Nothing else.

Sorry, I was a little vague. I was referring to your general ownership experience - not sure if you've done your European road-trip yet...

SO far done 1300 miles and the car is excellent and epic. NO issues whatsoever.

EU trip coming up next week and will report back once back.

Ask any questions and I Am happy to answer,

Thanks @TonyTonic - trying to pin down a 2.0 TSI for a test drive at the moment....

I test drove a TSI 4drive DSG 190 at SEAT Store Westfield.

Very nice and smooth but with the 20 inch rims.

I have 19s and it's a bit softer.

Good to know - thanks! My mileage and number of short journeys now dictates a petrol future. Coming from a diesel with good torque and ability to overtake safely from 30-60mph means only the 2.0 TSI is really in the frame...

TSI 320 Nm torque

TDI 150 340NM

TDI 190 400Nm

I Have the 150 diesel manual on 19s rims. It handles very well, the suspension has a strong rebound, most noticeable over speed humps but it's overall very comfortable,

Don't get the 1.5 TSI at the moment whatever you decide.

xcellence is the sweet spot in the range but obviously not an option if you want leather seats you need xcellence Lux, I am not a fan of leather so the alcantaca , cloth. fake leather combo 'sport' seats is very nice and comfy.

Also, I think only the leather seats are electric, the other have no option. For me not important
