Reverse screen delay

Recommended Posts

This can be coded with vcds/obd11 to whatever speed you want.  It is based on the speed reached after returning to forward gear plus whatever delay is inherent in the electronics.  Think I reduced mine to 15kph(8mph) which makes it much more reactive.  I am unlikely to reach 8mph when manoeuvring so it stays on when needed still.

Good to know, Thanks.  I had not thought it speed related.  I will eventually have to do some coding.  The list gets longer and cost/benefit gets more appealing.  It just so new and I don't want to screw the warranty.

Making changes like timing on the reverse screen staying on and the likes shouldn't screw you're warranty as it's a preference change, however making or trying to change the engine dynamics, valve timing might do. There are plenty of good adaptation guides on here to guide you. I'm more than happy at all the adaptations that I've made so far with my obdeleven  also as long as you save the change values, you can normally revert back to them.

I'd be interested in the long-coding/adaptations used to adjust this?

I've driven FL models and liked the way the rear-image stays on screen for a few seconds (so you can ensure you've closed your garage door, or not leaking fluids as you drive away, for example)
But i hate the way my pre-FL model only stays on screen WHILE in reverse gear. As soon as you move out of reverse, the screen has gone.

Also, has anyone noticed that at a certain reverse speed the camera actually switches off? Is there an option for this somewhere that anyone knows about?

My park assist module also didn't accept anything higher than 20 kph.

Mine is a MY14 with MIB1 Amundsen.
