thanks for your reply @superbdreams . I do agree on the rusting around it, I will check for any water damage before buying. Also I am having a 2010 model superb mk2 , so as per you its a newer version then will it be compatible on my music system?

As far as I am aware the newer versions offer extra features and are fully backwards compatible.

Apart from that if it works and is not of use to you , you will have no problem selling it!

as a matter of interest, what is the Purple Fakro lead on mine as the pic above doesn't have one?

GSM - It's only used on 'premium' modules that support rSAP.
