What does the RED icon mean on the radio

Featured Replies

Ah OK, I use Waze through Android Auto, I thought it was possible to get Google Maps directly via the Columbus / SIM, without connecting a phone.

Choose  google earth in the maps option at bottom of screen.

Another feature I like is in some situations, like when we go to our caravan the normal maps show “ off road” whereas the Google Earth overlay shows the layout of the caravan park.

Unfortunately this feature is no more supported on newer models.

Ah, I didn’t know that, seems a backward step to lose a useful and cool looking function.

Does WAZE use the full infotainment screen ?

Yes, the graphics deteriorate slightly, but it works well and utilises the full screen.

Have you tried this:

Thanks, just given it a go, but wasn't able to access the hidden developer menu.

@silver1011

Open Android Auto - go to settings (three stripes on left upper corner) - tap About - tap 10 times on "About Android Auto".

Last taps a balloon appears how many taps are left.

Right there, tap on three dots on right upper corner, there should be Developer options now.

Worked a treat, thanks!

After my Car has been at the garage to get a trailer hook fitted, my top car icon (location service) is missing. Only the planet is there. How do I get the car I one and lcation service back?

I have verified that. As you can see on my below photos, I have a valid connection to Infotainment Online, but not Care Connect, even though I still have a valid license. What to do ?

I went to Skoda to ask about this. And they told me that the service was partially down. And today, the icon is back. So that was the reason for my missing icon.

Unsurprisingly Skoda Connect services are down more often than they're up!

i presume a sim in the car is not required to use android auto connected from your phone?

No.
