WLTP 2.0 Tsi 190 reviews?

Featured Replies

I have a 2.0 Tsi 190 SEL on order and now the orders are coming through I’m wondering how other Briskoda members are finding the drive / refinement?

I’m coming from a Mk3 Octy vRS diesel DSG which has given great service is economic yet quick enough when needed and is quite smooth on gear changes from the DQ250 6 speed gearbox, however is quite noisy both engine and road (as expected) and I’m looking for something quieter and more refined, I know that I’ll have a much larger fuel bill but hoping that trades off with better refinement. Probably will run it on Momentum 99.

I do quite a lot of motorway miles and want a comfortable environment hence I also added ACC.

Thanks

Jason

I came from an Octy3 vRS diesel (manual) to a 150PS TSi DSG Kodiaq. Refinement is a massive leap up (as you'd expect - newer generation and Superb-based rather than Octy-based). Test-drove both the 2.0 and the 1.4 and couldn't work out why I needed the 2.0 or 4x4... but each to their own.

@WiggosSideburns Thanks for the response, I was a bit concerned that the 1.5 may suffer from the Kangarooing present on many of the latest 1.5 Tsi although it seems to be mainly manuals.

I do occasionally go to construction sites and think the bit extra ground clearance  of the Kodiaq and 4x4 won’t go amiss though the vRS was OK I was always  concerned, my previous Greenline Superb mk2’s would ground out on humpback bridges and speed humps!

I was just checking too see that the WTLP 2.0 Tsi hadn’t been too ‘restricted ‘ by the GPF and WTLP modifications, and is a good refined drive. On another forum a new owner was underwhelmed by it, though I’m not a quick driver so I’m not looking for blistering performance from a large SUV. I believe the ea888 3B engine has quite a bit of lower down torque and reaches max power at around 4K rpm. The Torque was always a positive of the Diesel engine.

To be honest I find my wife’s MY14 1.2 Tsi Yeti enjoyable to drive and very quiet, but  she likes the look of the Kodiaq so I can see the Yeti going into semi-retirement.

How's the noise levels in MY19 2.0TSI?

Skoda apparently dropped the sound insulation in the the current model year - did anyone notice the increased "noise" level?

Nope, still very silent.

Thank you gents! I might well add the bonnet silencer as it is not expensive at all - although it may not be necessary if the engine is really silent.

don't forget to order the correct no of clips.

How many are required - can’t find the quantity listed?
