Just need some black mirror caps now and it will look like a proper Vrs.:tongueout:

Have been looking at mirror caps, not sure if I like the look of them, think the monte carlo round badges may be my next investment

That's why I specifically didn't get another black car, I'm OCD when its comes to car cleaning and black is so hard to keep constantly clean, so far this one is being cleaned around every week

Thanks. Wife has told me never to sell it because I get bored quite easily. Keep her sweet by letting her drive it to work at least once a week. It reminds me how much fun she had when I fire it up and see what her average MPG was.:D

I swap my cars quite often, would be tempted to get a petrol vrs next, can't decide though to remap this one and be happy or do petrol, I do around 15k a year

Nice clean arse 😆 on my list of things to do - dogbone insert is first though. Then remove the lettering and vRS badge and fit my colour coded Skoda badges.

I'm doing 12,000 miles per year and averaged 40mpg from new (now 23,700 miles showing) or about 440 miles per 50 litres.

That's not as bad as I thought, when I've got some time off I might have to take one for a test drive

That's not much less than what I'm getting now

The mpg totally depends on your right foot I think.

The other day I got over 44mpg on a 15 mile journey.

IMO Black cars look the best, however only when clean.

I'd have liked a black one but I don't have time to be cleaning and polishing it, so I went for a colour that's quite forgiving.

My other car is black, with a purple tint if the sun catches it right..  looks amazing, but for only about 3 days a year.

This is only my 2nd Black car in 36 years driving and in nearly 2 years of owning it I have never polished it and rarely use a chamois. Normally let the rain was off the shampoo residue.;)

  • 4 weeks later...

Had a windscreen stone chip repaired by Autoglass, and then thoroughly cleaned the glass with Gtecniq, then coated with Gtecniq G5 water repellent coating.

Set off for a walk at 11:30 this morning and got back 3 hours later having consumed 1.5 litres of water between myself and SWMBO. Covered 5.8 miles like on Saturday which is 14,400 steps in 27C temperatures.

Couldn't do a walk yesterday with the wife after church and she has covered an admirable 15 miles or 24km since Saturday but being Kenyan she is more used to this heat.:tongueout:

Did you get them for under £100 each fitted because thinking about fitting a set to my spare set of 18" alloys (225/40)?

Yes! All 4 for £376 .  Also giving away an Intax 9 Polaroid camera.  I will also flog this on EBay and reduce the cost further! 🙂

And yes 245/40/18
