Fog Assembly Replacement VRs

Featured Replies

I have a cracked fog light lens and have brought a new light unit from Skoda £78.

I have used the search but left a little confussed. Is it possible to change the unit without removing the bumper?

I have seen it's possible to change the bulbs but nothing about the whole unit.

to be honest the bumper is not too hard and the effort in removing it would make the job so much easier. I wouldnt attempt a full unit change without removal, it is tricky to switch the bulbs without removal as it is.

Thanks @JohnnyType2

I read the bumper removal guide and the clips is the only bit that concerns me. The risk of them snapping is my worry, the rest is simple enough.

Any idea how long it takes to take off?

If i was to do it now it would take about 30 mins to remove the bumper,

i think you could get away with just taking out the arch liners

That would be a bonus.

Just need to find a couple of hours free time now.

Afternoon all,

As suggested by @JohnnyType2 it was possible to change the fog light unit with the wheel off and arch liner out.

A nice £125 save over the price quoted by Skoda.

Great advice, thanks, very useful.

I wish it had come about 12 hours earlier when I tried to change my foglight bulbs (to LEDs) without any success!!!
