Anything good against thieves ?

Frankly, I wouldn't worry about it beyond taking the sensible precautions mentioned earlier in the thread about not leaving things out.

Life's too short. Get decent insurance. Revel in the fact that Skoda vehicles aren't terribly attractive to thieves, only to us aficionados.

^ this.

If it's not on the drive in the morning, ring up the insurance company and buy another one.

Seriously, didn't these die with the 1980's?

Nope, best visually deterant money can buy IMHO, mines in silver 👍

Move somewhere safer. I’ve not locked the car on the drive overnight in the 10 years that we’ve lived here.

The Shetlands is pretty good for that from personal experience some years ago.

I was told to leave the keys in the ignition of my hire car when I dropped it off. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it!

I've also got friends in rural areas where they don’t lock the car or the front door.

Nice if you can do that, as a city guy everything is locked at all times.

Yeah, we sometimes lock the front door when we go out.

Where do you put it when its not on the steering wheel?

Would be nice having that thing projected through the cabin in the event of an accident.

One of my mate uses one of these on his Focus RS, this and the fact the car hasn't got KESSY and the obd port has been tucked away behind the dash is the only reason he can sleep at night.

I think he has a bag he stores it in but it does ride around in the footwell most of the time i think

It looks like disklok is pain if you drive - you cannot put under drivers seat and when you have passengers it will "interfere" with their knees.

ANyone using Stoplock (Pro) ? The one most popular on Amazon doesn't fit Skoda Kodiaq 😞

Couldn’t be bothered with anything these days , just normal keeping things out of sight .

No way of securing a car if it’s to order . I’ve watched gone in 60 seconds so I’m very clued up on the matter .

however when I’m out of the country it goes in a secured security controlled car park

skoda connect / all trackers once in a car container will not work gps and gsm

but highly unlikely orders for kodiaq coming from overseas not even a RS

I hope you put it there yourself................or someone that you trust at least.

Yes it’s my works I also take the keys with me

  • john999boy changed the title to Anything good against thieves ?

@New11 There is a PDF file on that page Stoplock Application Guide.

This should tell you if it is suitable or not.

You need 'Pro', or 'Pro Elite'. Simples...........

Thanks @Tilt - I must have overlooked it somehow ...

on this subject is there anyway to code the car so you can disable kessy from the fob without going back out to the car pressing fob the door ?

99% of thieves don't bother opening the door locks or bypassing security systems.

Out of those, 95% break in to steal from cars, not to steal the car.

Thieves attack the windows, as they are still the easiest to break in seconds. It is ironic the windows are not toughened for safety reasons...

Yes the KESSY on the door handles can be disabled with VCDS etc.

I don't think you can disable Kessy from the fob, so No, unless i am mistaken.
