QUESTION : Fabia TSI DSG 1.2 (2010) problems

Featured Replies

Hello. im interested in the Skoda Fabia 2010 model , 1.2 TSI & DSG . driven about 100K KM.

i've heard the TSI engine can cause a lot of problems when the car hits a high KM .

1. is it true? is the tsi engine a source to problems?

2. also heard the DSG gear can cause problems as well , and costs a lot to fix.

does any1 know anything about this?

thank you

Welcome.

What i would consider is the possible issue with a timing chain tensioner on a 1.2 TSI 2010-2011/12.

The engine should be good for high miles but you might need to upgrade the Timing Chain / Tensioner as VW Group had to.   So check if done already.

As to your DQ200 DSG, did it require the World Wide Recall in 2012 or the Service Campaign that was in Europe from 2014. So check if done already.

The Synthetic Oil changed to mineral and a software update.

Some needed this, some never, and plenty that never needed or just never got it are going fine at high miles / km.

Thank you for your answer.

About the TSI engine 1.2 CBZB timing issue - if the tensioner was replaced recentley,  i should not be worried about engine problems?

and for the DSG - if the oil was changed , and it had software update - would you recommand buying the car?

thanks in advanced

I would not bother if the DQ200 DSG had the Service Campaign or not, but i would want to know if it had been done or is outstanding.

That might show if the car was into Main Dealerships.

As to the timing chain, i would want that to have been done, or buy the car at the right price allowing for having it done sooner rather than later.
