Ignition switch wiring

Featured Replies

Hi all. I’ve got a 1998 Felicia 1.3 mpi pickup I was driving the other night when i noticed the brake warning light lit up on the dash I pulled over switched the engine off to have a look at the brake fluid and it’s fine I got back in and it wouldn’t start luckily I was on top of a bank so maneged to bump start it but the head lights and heater would not work. I’ve pulled the instrument cluster out to find an absolute mess of wires going to the ignition switch where  the previous owner has tried to put a new ignition switch in. There’s two yellow wires and two white wires going to one connector a thick black wire a thin black wire not connected to anything and two red wires one of which was loose. I noticed the yellow wires where getting warm when I had the ignition on. even if it’s not the cause of loosing the headlights and heater it wants sorting. Can any one tell me how to put the wires back to the proper way ?

thanks

Thanks I never thought of searching. Does the thin black wire belong on the ignition barrel?
