Hi, expect to collect a 2016 Octavia Estate auto and petrol before long to transport my wife's mobility scooter and large hairy spaniel, sometimes at the same time. At my time of life (70) I don't need any more hassles. Hope I haven't made a big mistake. Thanks for reading this and any words of encouragement.

A warm welcome to the Forum ?  70 - ah -wait 'til you catch me up😊

Thanks Oldmansomerset that makes me feel better. Just collected the octy and very impressed so far. Haven't loaded the scooter yet, max speed 4mph, range 10miles but at least its electric. Could be handy in an emergency if the octy let's me down.

Hello Findldu and wife welcome to Briskoda , its no mistake , enjoy your motor . B)

Hi Findldu and welcome,

I have two Octavia 2 estates and love them (no, I don't drive them at once).  I also have a hairy hound (Collie cross)  and a less hairy wife (no she's not watching).

I'm assuming you aren't expecting hairy hound and the  Every Ready Express (mobility scooter) to cohabit in the boot space so you might want to look at the rear seat covers available from time to time from the likes of Aldi and Lidl (and probably elsewhere too).  I can also recommend a dog harness setup I found from China (I'll find and post the details anon) which restrains and protects the pooch without damaging the seatbelt.

You may have already looked into this but if not have a look for folding ramps to help load the scooter, plus you could attach a simply multiplying pulley to one of the fitted luggage rings in the boot space to help to pull the scooter up the ramps.  There are also motorised versions available "at extra cost".

Thanks, StickyMicky, for your helpful comments and advice. The mobility scooter is of the 'boot' variety and disassembles into 5 bits which I intend keeping in the Octavia (ex the battery which needs charging in the garage). After some experimentation it all fits nicely on the boot floor in its raised position. The cover slides neatly over the top keeping it away from prying eyes. I will have to stop it rattling around with some padding and have had a dog guard fitted. It should all be safe and secure but as you suggest there is no room in the boot for the hairy Clumber Spaniel. I found a rear seat liner on Amazon and fitted that. I have yet to introduce him to his superior accomodation along with a harness to attach him  to the seat belt buckle. In the past I have difficulty getting him to jump into the boot of an SUV so the lower height of the rear seats in the Octavia will help. Lifting the hound as also the scooter parts is becoming an increasing problem for me but I am confident of finding a way that we can all go for outings together. Although only a Skoda owner for 10 days I am delighted with my purchase. Briskoda is also a good source of info. Thanks again.
