Updating sat nav.

Featured Replies

The sat Nat in my car isn't the original. It's a replacement for one that was stolen a few years back.

It needs updating.

How do. I go about that?

Can my Normal non skoda  garage do it or does it need doing by a Skoda one.

thanks very much.

Spelling mistake

You could try here for £30 our your local dealer for £200. It works ok for me.

Thanks Ronusa

That site is selling pirated disks. If you're going to go down that route there are cheaper ways to do it.

You might want to add which headunit you have too ;)

Chimaera... thanks

Langers.... I don't know what you mean

There are three different headunits (radios) that have an inbuilt satnav commonly fitted in Skodas of this age, each one takes different map updates...

It's hard to suggest what you need to do without knowing which is fitted, it's likely to be an Amundsen (RNS-310), Amundsen+ (RNS-315) or Columbus (RNS-510).

Thanks Langers .... how do I check which one it is?

Post a picture of it would be the quickest way for people to identify it if you don't have the owners handbook for that set.

Because people get fed up of pointing out the ways of downloading maps for free, buying them cheaper, or simply borrowing a disc from someone else. How do you think the guy selling them gets hold of them? You think he puts in a bulk order from VW or Skoda? Christ on a bike, you can even buy cheaper from Ebay (which is probably where he gets some of his "originals" from anyway)
