Don't buy a Skoda

Featured Replies

....... I don't  know if I should say this because I quite like my  2013 Skoda Octavia 1Z3 1.4TSI.  BUT.....

......BUT this VAG engine - the 1.4TSI and it's associated electrics / electronics are  'designed to fail'.

Just the layout of various sensors and placement of fusebox and relays are placed in stupid positions where they are going to suffer and fail after a short time

Welcome to the forum.

Maybe post your experience of them in the Octavia section, but then it would be too late.

There are quite a few Skoda Octavia 1.4TSI owners here that will have 6 year old cars that are not failing.

'designed to fail' - why is that then?

'Just the layout of various sensors' - which ones? what's the layout issue?

'placement of fusebox' - what's the problem?

'relays are placed in stupid positions' - which ones, why stupid?

'where they are going to suffer' - where's that then?

'and fail after a short time' - how long's a short time? How long are they supposed to last?

All perfectly reasonable comments, that could probably be said of most cars. And certainly others in the group that share the same platform, components and layout.
