Rare as rocking horse poop Octy vRS

Featured Replies

While at a dealers (bare with me) on Sunday we came across a white vRS on the forecourt... we had a look round and eventually (which makes a lovely change) the salesman came out to say hello.

After a nice chat about the car we came to learn that it was one of only two plain white vRS' in the UK that was shipped over with 100 White + rally spec stickers to commerorate (spelling?) the cars entry in rallies.

Apparently they shipped two plain white cars over incase any of the stickered up models were damaged in transit, it turns out none of them were so the 2 white ones were sold to dealers in the UK, this one in Rugeley bought one of them for the MD of the company and he used it for a while till he changed to the Superb he now runs.

If anyone fancies a 1 of only 2 plain white vRS and has 14K buring a hole in their back pocket contact Lea Hall Motors in Rugeley.

I assume it's full Rally edition spec, with the Xenons, heated seats, etc...

Hmm...no green trim on the outside though!

it didnt have any green on the exterior apart from the calipers :silly:

the seats were the usual vRS ones, didnt notice if they were heated or not.

Only going on what the saleman told me tbh :drive:

Only reason I mention the green is because the proper WRCs with decals have green rub strips, etc. So on the versions with the decals removed, the green still remains.

Seems strange that a car intended as a potential replacement to a WRC edition would be shipped with black trims instead of green!

No headlamp washers on it, so no Xenons. Silver wheels as well.

Didn't we have a spotting of a white non-WRC vRS a few months ago?

NINETEEN GRAND!!!!!

Thats not a white WRC, it's a white RS!

Easy to spot - silver alloys not white, lights are not xenon's and no headlamp washers.

As these have only been supplied to the police force, I'd assume it was a cancelled plod order - it says one prev owner - been a police demo vehicle perhaps??

Certainly rare, but not sure I'd be happy with it without finding out more - dealer is clearly spinning a line about it being a WRC and trying to charge accordingly!

It's worth 15k tops - or maybe a small amount more than any other 8k 2nd hand RS.

(of course in the time it took me to type that others had said the same :D)

One small point though - it does have a sunroof - was this even an option on the RS?

I can't imagine the plod white RS's being specified with sunroof?

Sunroofs are an option on the RS, maybe Plod had a sunroof fitted so they could check the flashing blue lights were working? :D

Maybe they ballsed up the order, which is why it finds itself for sale on a forecourt!

Or so they could wear their silly hats whilst driving.

Indeed we did.

T'was i who reported that car, i saw it in Middlesbrough. I'm more sure than ever that i wasnt seeing things now :D

Oh,2 other points...

The WRC also came with a factory alarm, that site only mentions the immobiliser.

Also, if it was shipped in with the WRC's, why is it on a 03 Plate? I thought most if not all the WRC's were sold well before March 03 ?

Indeed we did.

OK, so we've established it's not a WRC....

Shall we take it in turns to ring the dealer and tear him apart when he says why it's worth

We can't change the world, but I really feel for any poor sod that buys that, a 2nd hand RS for 4grand more than it costs new!

Maybe a word with Niki about dealer practices - if someone buys this and then comes on here and realises he's been ripped off, I think he'd soon complain to customer services? Maybe this can be prevented?

TBH it is on the Skoda UK site as a normal Octy RS NOT the WRC (or Rally as they call it on the site). If people want to pay that much extra for a stock RS just because its white then more fool them. :stupid:

...... although if the dealer is feeding a load of bull in the forecourt chat then they need to be found out ASAP. :cussing:

Looks like a copcar demo to me!

Er...isn't this what dealers do for a living?! ;)

Twitter and bisted cynic :p - I have met the odd decent / straight one!

So, er, a ballsed up order?
Sounds like it. And an even more ballsed up salesman who spoke to Nigel26!
