The V-maxx are very good for the money, but nothing on the Bilsteins.

A few phrases come to mind while tinkering this weekend.

"Listen to your own advice"

"Buy cheap, do twice"

When rebuilding the front hubs I bought a pair of ebay cheapy front bearings. 50/50 chance that they will last and that proved spot on. After only a few hundred miles in reality (due to lockdown) the left front wheel bearing started grumbling. So I fitted up a spare hub with a decent FAG brand wheel bearing ready to swap over.

So what's the plans Ross? Keeping it fairly low key or going for a chunk of power?

For the moment, get it in and running, looking pretty.

A few more updates,

Crank bolt wasn’t giving up for love nor pleading. So it met Mr Cutoff tool.

With that off finally flipped the engine over and whipped the sump off.

Very therapeutic indeed. Back to the day job tomorrow. Booooo.

So back in the day job now, so a few little things prepped after work (for those that might still be following and who are mildly interested).

It's all in the details, and will make sense when it's all together.

Looking good.

Love the colour coding Ross, Will look very much at home in the Cayenne bay.

Looks very nice indeed! Keep it up.

Slight change of plan for the moment. This engine will now be going elsewhere and the 2.0 will be staying where it is for a bit longer.

I'm pretty excited about where it is going though and some new plans being hatched. Watch this space, or rather watch this space...

Remember this old thing?

This is gonna look epic once it’s done and love the idea of it going in the Sedan (if I’ve understood you correctly!)

This and Lofty’s build make me wanna do more with the engine I’m currently pulling out my donor, but very much doubt I will. Credit to you, sir!
