Fuel filter removal - petrol

Featured Replies

Hi

I planned on changing the fuel filter on my petrol engined 2012 Superb. However, the screwhead holding the filter in place is rusted away. Nothing to get any purchase on. Anyone done one of these? Can I drill the head off the screw and still re-use the bracket. Any advice welcomed.

Probably easier to just get the whole filter housing tank assuming they’re not stupid money these days.

Photo would help, but yes, if you still want to bother, you'll probably have to drill it off/out.

How many miles on the car? Any specific reason to think it may need changing?

Edit: Wait! Why has this been dredged up, it's nearly a year old!

I've drilled the head off then cable tied filter back to bracket. Not ideal but not much more can be done.
