Kamiq on Configurator is over £37800 with all options

Featured Replies

If they did do one with Solid Tyres & not a panel in common with the Kamiq that is not yet with customers what would it actually cost?

The Kamiq GTF off my jacksy model.

  • The Kamiq is rather on the big side for a learner driver. I'd be astonished if I saw one, and would question the instructor's reasoning. The three I know all reckon a Golf/Focus/Scala is big enough. A

  • I think they have raised the price of the Karoq since the launch I just built a Karoq with a similar spec to the Kamiq and it was just under, so makes no sense unless they offer large discounts

  • It will not be long to wait if the Scala is an example.

So if there is a Kodiaq GT in China and we have the Kodiaq Vrs   -  could there be a Kamiq Vrs equivalent of the Chinese Kamiq GT I wonder..

Looked at it again and doesn't seem quite as bad now there are some discounts available. SEL Kamiq now appears comparable or slightly cheaper than SEL T-Cross on PCP, possibly higher final payment helping and higher deposit contribution. Auto folding door mirrors which I think is one of the more useful options are not standard even on this high spec model. Other massive downside for me is only available with 18" wheels.

Folding door mirrors are standard on Kamiq SEL Electrically adjustable, folding and heated door mirrors

Ah, that's good, missed that, thanks.

Just back from speaking with the dealer, and to obtain the same spec as our 66 plate L&K Yeti with the same options is an eye watering £36k (£6k options and before incentives ) ..... me thinks Skoda have either got greedy or have missed the point completely .... its no Volvo XC40, which is way, way out in front IMO, and specced up to the same level was only £37k with them falling over themselves to do a deal.

?

What was the RRP of a 2016 L&K Yeti which was just before the Yeti's were discontinued as they were not great sellers?

Ours was £28400 (October 2016 build) and pennies

Not so sure about the "not great sellers" comment ... ?

Globally they sold less than 900,000 from 2009-2017.

That was not great sales.  Hence discontinued, but missed by many, just a pity more never bought them.

They were near £28,000 in 2014.

3 year old cars asking prices on a L&K still good,

trade in price fair.

An 8 years old car/design, didn't have much life left in it for upgrades etc any way ... and Autoexpress doesn't think highly about anything in the last 25 years that doesn't say Golf on the boot. 😀

I wouldn't worry too much on list prices (unless it takes you over the 40k for road tax) most dealers should be breaking their necks with discounts for you money.

AC said to me when I was looking to order my Kodiaq back in May that the price was fixed "no discount available". That was until I showed them my carwow offers of very nearly 5k of list price. AC salesman very quickly changed his tune and came within 100 quid of my best carwow offer.

Best approach when buy a car is to leave you common decency at home and go in swinging, take no prisoners!

Thanks, I did and usually do .... list is just a line on the ground but there is just too much of this car "extra" on the spec ... even the SE-L.  There is a Skoda promotion available and another specifically for Yeti upgrades ... but even after that it is still too much for what it is IMO.

Skoda just taking lessons from mummy VW with the spec sheet.

Aye it is fairly dear right enough. That's more than my Kodiaq sportline with options came in at after discounts. My list price just snuck under the critical 40k for road tax.

Though as a comparison price up a mini countryman and see what price you come up with on the configurator.

It's all the systems that alter the price. Side assist. lane assist. front assist. This assist that assist  blind spot detection.  Led lights. All new informant. SoS alert   new MBQ0a chassis. nearly all of these are not on the Yeti. I don't think it's comparable

I agree - comparing to Yeti.. but it should be the cheapest of the 3 Kamiq / Karoq / Kodiaq.. and its not really...

My 2.0 TDI Kodiaq L&K  DSG 4x4 with extras.. is less (with discount) than a 2WD Kamiq fully speced.. before discount..

Skoda UK seems to have got the picing structure out of whack on Kamiq... and should really have included more safety things for the price they are charging.. as standard.

But its OK.. I just stick with the Karoq and Kodiaq.. which offers more bang for buck..

The Kamiq is not the replacement for the Yeti the karoq was. The Kamiq is all new not replacing anything the Scala replaced the Rapid

Skoda CEO Bernhard Maier interview in AutoExpress this morning online -

"Maier chuckles when asked if this car, not the Karoq, is really the spiritual successor to the Yeti. “Size-wise, you’re probably right,” he acknowledges. “But we’re looking for a broader appeal than that. The small SUV segment is the fastest-growing area of the market in lots of countries. Yes, the Yeti was a wonderful car but it was in its ages, so we had to come up with something new. And the Kamiq is something of a crossover as well – not just an SUV. This type of car is highly appreciated by our customers these days, so it’s absolutely the right time for it.”

The Rapid production line was dismantled in a month and replaced in the Czech Republic by the new Kamiq where production is currently 200 per day but is being ramped up to meet expected demand.

They might well be in a Skoda Main Dealership near you tomorrow to try out for size if you are in the UK.

They were in the showrooms in my 2 local dealers last Tuesday..

The Auto Express article is very interesting - particularly the development section

  • 1 month later...

having read the various threads on the Kamiq and some of the prices being quoted and what I have seen online as pre-regs, why would you buy one of these for Karoq or Octavia money.....infact most Octavias and many Karoqs are cheaper.

At present I havent seen any incentive to trade in my Octavia.

You may buy it because it's more suited to town driving and should be more economical than either ( and cheaper to insure too ).

As far as Octavia is concerned, it's a whole different sector, I can't imagine anyone interested in a Kamiq would be considering an Octavia. And even if both cars were matched, I'm willing to bet that Octavia will depreciate more over the next 3yr due to demand, not to mention a new model being around the corner.

Personally I think it's harder to justify over the Karoq in anything other than 1.0L form. But if you want a 1.0L auto then you've no choice other than a Kamiq, even a 1.0L manual should have a performance advantage.

PS - according to Broadspeed broker buying new:

Kamiq SEL 1.0L £18536

Karoq SEL 1.0L £20815

( the Kamiq can be bought with a less powerful 1.0L if needbe which makes it cheaper still )

Plus the the Kamiq produces 116g/km Co2 whereas the Karoq produces 124g/km with exactly the same engine which may be an advantage to some.

Well, even with "just" 150 bhp, I'm interested in the Kamiq, and if it had around 180 bhp I'd be seriously interested.

Wish I could understand why you quoted me? According to your ID you already own an Octavia?

I'm saying why would anyone who's interested in a buying a small SUV also have a large family hatch / estate on their shopping list?  You've already bought the Octavia which I assume is too big for your needs?
