Unknown switch & accessory!

Featured Replies

Hi

I have just purchased a 2008 Superb that has a Kenwood DNX516DABS Nav system, I have noticed a switch near hand brake which switches on a gizmo above rear view (see pics) I have absolutely no idea what it does other than state "E5"! Can anyone assist me in what it is please?

Another guess is after market parking sensors that have a fault

Speed camera detector maybe?

A thread in another section showed the same button, can not remember if that was on a Kodiaq, @silver1011 might remember.

Certainly looks like parking sensors to me...

Easy to check if they are fitted to the bumpers and to test if they work depending on the switch position.

I think it was this one...

If this was fitted to a MK I Fabia I would have guessed it was an electrical switch to replace the " ON " manual button in the small  storage box next to the light switch

Why?

This ON button simply slides a flap onto the vent outlet of the cooled glove box. no need to make that electric...

The button activates a front parking sensor! Mystery over!

Just the one sensor? I assume you meant plural, as in the usual 4x sensors?

Did you not wonder why they weren't working, or was the switch already in the 'ON' position?
